Sorry I'm being very "posty" lately. Im just so excited to be on this journey with you all.

So my new big NSV.  I cleared out my closet.  I'm giving all of my 1X's, 2X's & size 20's and above to my sister as I cleaned out my closet over the last two days and had so much extra room. I  now have this shelf where my few leftover 16's & downs are, as my "someday" clothes, the 18's and XL's which are fitting me now in another area.

I gotta admit some of the stuff I'll be sorry to see go, some of the business jackets & favorite blouses.  But the whole effort was somewhat freeing too.  I started off only giving up the stuff I didn't like, and by the end 2/3 rd of my closet was in the donate pile.  I did keep the largest pair I own though as a reminder.

On a slightly separate note, No one in my family knows except the Hubby about the WLS.  My sister is coming up next week (she'll be leaving with a much heavier car) and some family for a spring festival were having in our neighborhood.  So I decided to tell them and give them free reign to tell anyone else, (I'm calling my mom the night before to let her know).  So a little nervous about that, but mostly feeling relieved Ive committed to that as well.  I have no doubt my entire family will know within a week, because my very extensive family likes to talk as you may have gathered from my posts

Congratulations Navychic!  I'm happy for you!  I know what you mean about sad to see some of your clothes go (I like my clothes but I like them even better in a smaller size). Hopefully you will receive lots of love and support from your family!

That's Exciting!!!   I remember giving away my good work/church clothes and it was a little scarey.  I took mine to Suit Yourself (Dress for Success).  They give the clothes to low income who need nicer things for job hunting and interviews.  That made me  feel much better about giving them away.

I think it's great that you are telling your family.  I know others have good reason for not sharing but I think it would be very hard to keep this kind of secret.  They shouldn't be too upset since you have already had it done.  My family was obsessed over the fear of something happening to me.  I heard all kinds of  "bad" WLS stories. Knowing my family is aware actually helps me do better at family functions.  When they are "sharing" the story they will be able to brag about how well you have done so far.
