One month post op!!
Today, I am 30 days post op! Hw 219 sw209 cw 189!! I couldn't believe I made it out of the 200's let alone making it to the 180's in my first month! So many positives, I feel fantastic, I'm taking more care to get ready in the morning, my clothes are getting too big already and the best part is my energy!! You all were right it's amazing. No need for caffeine or energy drinks and I get so much stuff done in a day!
Looking forward to the months ahead!
What an inspiration!!! I was sleeved exactly one week ago...and I'm already beginning to feel all the post-op swelling go down, energy increase, etc. Excited to move forward, and really really hoping I have great results like yours! You should be extremely proud of yourself. What a victory! Thanks for sharing--it's so nice to see others who are right at my surgery weight and know that they are doing so well.
When I was in my surgeon's clinic for a follow-up barium swallow test, a woman was sitting in the waiting room prior to having her surgery. I KNOW she meant well, but she looked over and me and said, "What in the world are you even DOING here? You don't look like you need to lose much weight." Reason #253 why I love this particular forum...so I can see all these people in lower BMI categories doing this for themselves as a healthy step towards prevention and or reversal of the early comorbidities of obesity. Everyone runs their own race, and I owed this nice lady no explanations...but as confident as I am in my own choice, it's still nice to see that I have some company. (And such successful company at that!) Way to go, Angie2015!!!!!!
Thanks! I will never justify my decision to anyone! I honestly think this was the best decision I have made. I am a healthier mother, wife and friend. I was unsuccessful losing on my own and would cry about my uncontrolled eating that had the potential to make me even heavier more depressed and tired. I was not going to let that happen. I needed help to regain control and now I have the tool.
I think I would have given a cheeky response to that lady and say.... "Why did u wait so long?!" Lol would that be too harsh?!
Im just so happy I'm smiling more each day, my co workers think I'm nuts! But all are very supportive. I'm lucky I have great support!
Keep us up to date with all your success too!
Ha! Love it. I held my tongue, because I do believe she meant well, and I was a wee bit emotional post surgery. Lolol. But still... ;)
I agree--I am a total control freak, and I haven't gotten control of this for 30 years? I need a different tool. I see the path ahead of me (I.e. I just have to look at everyone else in my family...) and it's paved with hypertension, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, heart attacks... Nope. I'm getting off that train. I'm tired of obsessing and genuinely being bothered by something I can't seem to fix on my own. Ok...I look like I don't need to lose much. But I've looked like that for DECADES. I'd really like to move over to the "don't need to lose at all" category. :). So I'm exchanging the plastic spoon I've been trying to dig out with for a bulldozer. Ready to move on to victory!
Again...SO happy for you! :)
I get that all the time, "you didn't need to have the surgery". They didn't know my pre-existing health issues. Yes, I was a light weight (w:216), but I had high blood pressure, sleep apnea and border-line diabetic. I'm so happy I did the surgery because those are all gone now!!! I'm 3 months post-op and feel fantastic!!!! It took me 4 weeks to get my energy and life never felt so good!
Yay! Happy one month anniversary!! :) I am 2 weeks post op today and am looking forward to hitting that one month mar****ep up the good work!

I wanted to chime in 1 mth & 2 days post op and 23 lbs down (still sitting I the stall though for the last week, yuck), but I went out yesterday and had hair done and today I've had about twenty people come up and say wow you look like a new person. No one knows the real reason! lol, but the hair definitely draws attn. to my face and as my best friend who does know says, my confidence level is skyrocketing and that shows through as well!
Good job to all of us as we go on this crazy journey!
