From frustrated to PI**ED!!!

So I went back to work 3 days ago. Pretty tired by the end of my shifts but doable. It's taken some strategies to pack for dinner and shakes etc. I am officially 2 weeks post-op. Woke up this morning and I am UP! 2 pounds! Seriously WTF? I had RNY and I am 1 month out from starting the optifast to 2 weeks post-op and I have only lost about 17 pounds! I don't feel constipated but the last BM was 5 days ago. What am I doing wrong? Am I being impatient? I see so many people saying the weight literally falls off of them but I am not seeing it. Is it possible that I have advanced my diet too quickly? I had a really bad time finding a protein powder that didn't make me feel sick. I am now using unflavoured in a combo of milk and yogurt. I am also eating canned tuna in water about 1.5oz with 1/4 cup cottage cheese. I can also eat chicken (same amount as fish) I'm not struggling with hunger at all. Any suggestions? I'm so angry I could scream! Thanks Chris
You're only two weeks post op and are just returning to work. What that says to me is you probably (and rightfully) have spent the last 10 days or so recovering by taking it easy, and then returned to what sounds like a fast paced, on your feet job. In that case, I bet you're probably retaining some water, coupled with the BM situation (tee hee....poop makes me laugh), I think the progress thus far is probably to be expected. Some of the water retention is still from the procedure, at least that's what others say. And I bet the act of going from rest to hustle at work will make you retain even more.
I say just relax. I think at this stage it's medically near impossible to not lose given your calorie intake. Just follow your drs plan and focus on the positive. And maybe treat yourself to a massage. (I threw in that last part, mostly because I really want a massage )
Chris, I know the frustration you're feeling. I'm just over six weeks out and had a similar experience BUT as has already been stated you will lose weight it would be impossible not too! Take your measurements that was kept me going and some good advice I received from a member on this site was to get rid of my scale and only weigh myself once a month then you will not notice "plateaus" I had my hubby hide the scale. Recuperation from the surgery does take time and the weight loss will follow! Don't feel bad, it's not worth it - it really is going to happen. I know it's hard to believe when you've struggled with your weight like we all have but the people on this site are proof! IT WILL HAPPEN FOR YOU! Keep your chin up before you know it you will be smaller!!! :) Best wishes!!!
So far, everyone is correct. You may still be getting rid of water weight from surgery. I know I retain water after certain foods, travel, etc and I bet being on your feet will do it to. Time of the month, that makes many folks gain. Post on Miles and Menus. I always felt great even if I didn't lose if I followed my plan to the T, protein and water were up. Count that as a positive day, no matter what the scale says. It is something you can control, unlike the scale. At 2 weeks, we were still on 1/4c meals, 5-6 times a day. Keep trying protein. You really need it and it is too hard to try to get it with food alone. You can order samples from Vitalady, unjury and syntrax. That way you aren't buying a whole jug of something you don't like. Plus, your taste change after surgery but not forever. If you have other protein, try them again in a week or so.
Also, can you add your surgery type. That may help with suggestions.
