Renewed Commitment
I have really royally screwed up my weight loss surgery journey. So i'm back on track and to renew my commitment I have just registered and paid for a 5k May 30, 2015. I have 12 weeks to be ready and I'm stoked. I am smoking my last few cigarettes and switching to the ecig, I start my training program tomorrow (frozen rain right now so not today) Will be walking today. I downloaded my couch to 5k program on my phone. and I am ready. This will be my second 5k the first I got a time of about 48 minutes (will check exact time later) This time I am shooting for 40 min or less. :D Anyone else doing a 5 k this spring?
I just committed to a 1.5 mile walk poker Run thing at my work in three weeks. Lol, I remember when that woulda been so easy, but now I'm just syked I committed to anything exercise oriented. The choices were 5k Run, 3k Jog or the walk. Maybe next year I'll do the run. Good for you for going for the 5K!
Thanks NavyChic, I posted in back to basics and I had an offer to do a virtual team on Thanksgiving Day. So I'm going to do research to do another 5k then too. I love to jog, I feel amazing afterwards but this is the biggest I've ever been to try doing it. This is a new challenge for me. The heaviest I've ever been when i was jogging was about 15 lbs less than i am now. When I did my first and only other 5k I was 20 lbs less than I am now and much more fit. I'm going to try going into this race at around the same weight but I plan to be more fit than the first 5k. I have an exercise routine for the days that I'm not jogging. I'm doing the couch to 5k three days a week and doing the flat belly challenge the other four days. Doc said it would be best if I do exercise every day. I'm really nervous and know it's going ot be really rough the first couple of weeks because my back is giving me such problems but I'm hoping with regular exercise that improves. If not i will contact my pcp and ask him for something for my back so I can complete this. I"m NOT giving up.
