slow weight loss and yeasty Ugh!
Could use a little pick me up support today :) Im at the 3 mos post op and weight loss going slow, I don't seem to have the energy that I did last month and have been dealing with yeast rash under my arms (guess I'll have to get on diflucan, the creams aren't working) But my main problem is the slowwww weight loss. I started at 230, sleeve weight was 210, and I'm at 188 now, but I've been there for about 4 weeks and it isn't moving Ugh! Now I'm no****ching my diet as closely as I should be, but I'm doing well with portion size and chewing, still having trouble with vitamins and getting all of my liquids in!! Somebody tell me this is normal :) Thanks
Please don't take offense to this.....it's probably normal if your aren'****ching your "diet" closely. If you base everything that goes into your mouth on Protein then you don't have to keep track of everything BUT if you are eating "bad" carbs like pasta, bread, rice and even fruit every day then you should be keeping track on one of the Menu sites. Now when I say Protein I'm talking good Protein not a lot of Protein bars etc.
Have you read my "book" that I put on the top of Menus and Miles every day? It warns about carbs in your daily plan.
If you are following all of the rules then increase your "GOOD" Protein 3 days and then drop back down to your normal Protein total and it might jump start you. Also...did you take your measurements at the beginning? We usually lose inches during stalls.

Our numbers are about the same. Only I'll be 4 months out on Friday. I am a very slow loser also. I am very strict with what I eat, and my NUT advised me to add some fruit to try and help me lose... I had 1 serving of grapes 3 days in a row and I gained almost 3 lbs. :( I stopped the fruit (and I have been craving carbs ever since!) and I am finally down 1 lb from where I was 2 weeks ago. Like Roz said, up your protein and cut out the carbs. :) It will work, it just takes some of us longer and we have to me more diligent with our diet. :)
Any of us can out eat our surgery, no matter how early out and what surgery. RNY you do have the benefit of malabsorption that helps for a while but you don't have that advantage with sleeves. Munching is bad news because even if that sleeve is little, if you keep filling it, you can consume a lot more than you think. Plus as we lose, it takes fewer calories to support us so the additional calories add up and add up to more weight.
So start posting on Miles and Menus, use a tracker and be honest. Get some exercise. Do your vitamins. I think my energy level increased when I got my D3 up. Is your protein around 100g, carbs less than 30? You can do this but it is not effortless for anyone. And the further out from surgery you go, the more diligent you need to be.
