Angry and Frustrated!!! AND PROBABLY HORMONAL! GRRR!

I am so angry and frustrated this morning! I am 9 days post-op and haven't had a lot of issues as for as nausea or diarrhea but my taste buds are totally off. Nothing tastes good. I am eating full fluids and found a tomato soup with oregano and basil brought it home and really loved it; until I tried to eat it for supper again where it tasted like I was eating a bowl of sugar. This morning I made 2 separate bowls of cream of wheat and threw them both out cause I couldn't stand the taste. I bought unflavoured Whey Protein at the bulk store and have been trying to add it to my food but I can still taste it! And it's disgusting! And to make matters worse...I am crying at the drop of a hat. I am not menopausal because I went thru that over 10 years ago when I had breast cancer. I would really appreciate some love and support right now...Thanks Chris
I am a recent WLS also and haven't found a way to add unflavored successfully to food, but I'm still hopeful i'll get it. I have finally worked out the morning coffee and that's good (scroll down on recent posts in this forum for directions). The unjury chkn soup broth worked really well for me in the beginning, it was my goto protein for the first week, now I'm branching out. Also several reviews in the forum recently of how toos on several other Protein products and ways to use them, ie sugar free hot choc which I'm picking up next grocery trip. Who'da thunk, Hot Choc could ever be good for me?!?!?
Good Luck as you move forward!

Thanks Navychic! I am on the hunt for the Unjury chicken soup. I am in Ontario, Canada and have called a couple local businesses that have never heard of it. But I haven't given up yet! And sugar free Hot Chocolate does sound delish...thanks for the ideas!
Hey Chris, I feel your pain :( I found during my two weeks on full liquids that sticking to the basics worked for me. So I drank Premier Protein Shakes, S/F Jello, Plain Tomato Soup that I made with a 1/2 can of water/1% milk and spiced it up with black pepper and Franks Red Hot and S/F popsicles. I didn't worry too much about variety because I knew it was only two weeks. I also drank No Sugar added apple juice with Diet Cranberry Juice diluted half with water. I also developed a habit of sucking on ice that I've squeezed fresh lime juice on. I hope that helps! Best wishes...it gets easier everyday.

Thanks you for your suggestions, I am heading out to a couple nutrition stores in my area to see if I can't find some samples of the Premier line of protein shakes. I just can't afford to buy a huge jug and not like the stuff. I love the idea of the ice cubes! Even though I am still living in a snow globe I find myself running a bit warm at times and that sounds really refreshing!
I just read that you're in Toronto! I too am from Canada, Northern Alberta! I buy my shakes at Costco they come premade I can't remember exactly how many are in a box 15-18 for $28.99. They are a lifesaver! I went to Mexico for my surgery so I was given a sheet of what to drink/eat when and than a nice lady on the this board gave me the suggestion of Brigham Young's diet (very helpful!). I don't think you can find a supplier for the Unjury products in Canada but I've ordered on-line and they only take about a week to get here. I ordered lots of the "unflavoured" and don't really care for it. The Chicken Soup one is great though! Just my two cents- oh right we don't do pennies here anymore :)

A fellow Canadian! Hello! I'n not actually in Toronto but that is where my surgery was performed. I am about 2 hours or so east of Toronto. How much snow do you have? Need some? I'll send it cheap! LOL Can you expand a bit or share a link for the Brigham Young's diet please? I googled it but unless I'm not looking where I need to, I just see a lot of school related links. What company do you order your Unjury from? Thanks for your two cents...haha I'll add my three and we will have a nickel between us. haha! Thanks
Brigham Women's Hospital VSG Diet Here is the link for you!!! Thanks for the offer but you can keep your snow! We always have more than our fair share, lol! I order my Unjury straight from the company and their customer service is great! Unjury see link! Now that we have a nickel where shall we spend it? Have a great day!!! Carol
