Yay soft food!!!
I had surgery on feb 10th and I can't wait for tomorrow to have an egg :) I'm so happy with everything since my decision to have vsg. I was hw219, sw209, cw 192.5 and counting!!! 26.5lbs total loss.
Best part, I'm starting to pull out old clothes and they finally fit again.
My only concern with doing more soft food is weightloss may slow down. So I'm hoping my body just keeps dropping at this steady weight but we will see!
I have been on Pinterest checking for food ideas. Looking forward to making great choices :)
I remember being so ready for each diet phase change and rushing to the grocery with my new list of things to try.
Be careful with eggs. So many folks have issues with them. I think Jody says she could eat them with cheese and cooked very soft but Roz never was very successful early out. I know, they seem like the perfect soft food. I didn't have an issue, just couldn't eat a whole one. Leftover egg isn't great but the dogs loved the rest.
Did you do pureed? Seems like some Dr call it soft, some pureed. We even had to puree cottage cheese. Anyway, my favorite was homemade chicken veggie soup that my sister blended and froze in ice cube trays. Oh my that was wonderful and such a good break from sweet protein stuff. Refried beans and cheese are good for a lot of folks but weren't on my Dr list.
As long as you keep your protein up, keep your fluids up, you should be fine. At this point it seems like everything soft, mashed potatoes, cream of wheat, refried beans, etc are all very carby. But not to worry about carbs quite yet. When you are only eating 1/4c, you are ok. However, if you find your weight really slowing, try to find things that aren't so carby and see if that speeds you up again.
