Protein Hot Chocolate
I've notice posts in many boards referring to protein hot chocolate. Where do you buy this? Sounds delightful especially on -18 degree mornings like today!

It is good and so tasty. I take a scoop of protein powder, add one packet of sugar free hot chocolate mix and mix in a little water to make a paste or you could use milk or creamer. Then I add ho****er and stir. Top it with whipped cream for a treat.

Wow...sounds great!! What protein powder do you normally buy? I've been a RTD girl thus far so haven't gotten into powders yet.

I have some samples of Syntrax chocolate, so I'll give it a try. I'm not a huge fan of the consistency that powder brings typically. I found Isopure Zero Carb to be my "go to" protein drink. I love the grape flavor and a 20 oz bottle has 160 calories and 40 grams of protein. Usually for breakfast I just drink 1/2 of the bottle (10 oz, 20 grams of protein) and dilute it with some water. The consistency even on it's own is like water, so after you dilute it a bit it really feels like I'm just drinking flavored water and I love that.

You have to make it - not sure of any place that sells it.
I do the same as Jo. I use the Swiss Miss diet (has lower carbs) and add a scoop of chocolate protein mix with some unsweetened almond mil****il a slurry then I put the cup in my Keurig and just let ho****er go in. Mix after. Very good.
You also can switch it up a little if you want - use the hot chocolate mix and use vanilla protein - makes it nice and creamy tasting! You also could add a teaspoon (to taste) of cocoa powder...
Now another twist - mix the hot coco mix and protein with the unsweetened almond milk into a slurry and chill. It becomes something similar to pudding...
The key to adding protein powder to hot liquids is to mix it with a warm or cold liquid first then with the ho****er/milk/coffee.

Holy Cow all the options sound great and the tips for making it are appreciated. What powder do you prefer? I've been sticking with RTD pre-op. I love the tip for the Keurig too - makes perfect sense!!

Syntax nectar family is my favorite but I also go to gnc. Right now I'm putting the gnc cookies and cream in my coffee. Syntax has a chocolate that is very good and mixes well. You can get that in many places. Amazon, vitamin Shoppe etc

I think Bariatric Choice actually makes one that they sell but it is pretty expensive and it is a lot easier to make your own.
I make big ones in my 20 oz blender bottle to get more fluid in. I use almond/coconut milk and water and heat it in the microwave. In a small cup I mix a scoop of protein, 25 calorie hot chocolate mix, sweetner and a spoon of cocoa with warm water. Then I add a little of the hot to the cup then add the cup to the bottle.
My other favorite hot protein drinks is using the Lemon tea. I use my big bottle again and hea****er with a tube of generic crystal light peach tea. I mix the lemon tea protein in a small cup with warm water. Add a little of the ho****er to the cup, then add the cup to the ho****er mix. Yummmy.
