Why is the scale moving in the wrong direction?
Are you measuring your portions? This is especially important in the beginning when our bodies cannot yet tell we are full.

I too felt very well taken care of. The Staff at the Hospital were fabulous - I was up walking an hour after surgery, with very little pain. I stayed an extra 5 days and had the best surgi-stay-cation. Loved that they had King Beds at the pool with sheets and pillows to relax. The management of the hotel were great and treated my daughter and I like princesses. Nathalie is very nice but I found that also, not a lot of info. I downloaded the VSG diet from Bringham Young Womens Hospital, and have been following it to a "T" - It has been easy to follow - if you follow and listen to your body and what it is telling you - it works! Please ask me anything - On another note, my GP has been very pro-active - I do blood tests every 3-4 months, weigh in, etc.. I was off all meds, blood pressure, metformin 1 month after surgery. The weight steadily comes off, and inches much more. BTW - I do not have a scale at home, never have - just a personal preference - Everyone talks about the dreaded stall, and I probably stalled but never knew it as I only weighed myself once a month at the Drs. office. Sorry so long-ish, but nice to meet someone who also went to Dr. Joya.
Lisa, Thank you so much for the information! I just downloaded the VSG diet from Bringham Young, thank you so much for the tip it's awesome!!! My husband hid the scale from me yesterday (thank goodness!) and I will talk to my doctor about the blood tests, etc. on my next visit. I haven't been taking my meds regularly for the diabetes because when I don't have enough food in my stomach the metformin makes me soooo sick (I've never adjusted really well to it and I'm looking forward to being free of it). I will probably ask you many questions going forward and thank you for your help! BTW, I loved the hospital too - nicest hospital I've ever been in! Also, I think Dr. Joya must be quite wonderful I had my surgery late in the day but was up walking fine first thing the next morning.
Any questions - e-mail me: [email protected] - I think he is quite wonderfull too!! I'm a bit unconvential in my ways - the board here would probably call me out on a lot of things - I drink regular coffee with 1/2 n 1/2, I smoke and I drink wine - and I'm old enough to say so.......... :) I went through the falling out hair stage, cut off 7 inches and now where a long bob -(no, it didn't come out in clumps, but the shower drain was pretty full every day) BUT, I knew what to expect because of this board!! The information, when you pull out the pieces that apply, is pretty darn wonderful. I'm always amazed what people will share - including me.
OMG! Thank you so much! I too am a coffee with 1/2 & 1/2 drinker; I have two cups a day and love them! I would rather workout harder or change something else I'm eating than give up my coffee (I always say my family loved coffee before coffee became cool). Thanks for the email - I also sent you a friend request! :)
