Menus and Miles for Roz - Tuesday Feb 17th
Hi everyone
Roz must be busy - I think they had pretty nasty weather. Luckily it missed us. We still have the bitter cold and I have to keep running my water to keep it from freezing, but it could be worse. My sister just got her pipes unfrozen. I'm still waiting for my contractor to come back and wrap my pipes in electrical tape.
My eating is bad. Today is a new day and I'm back on track! 2.5 weeks until my son's fiance's bridal shower in TX...
B - protein coffee and a regular coffee
L - chicken thigh with hot sauce
S - protein hot chocolate (used vanilla ice cream protein and it really DOES taste like vanilla ice cream!). Made it nice and creamy. I use the diet Swiss Miss.
S- a few SF bread and butter pickle spears
D - I have some cooked hamburg I need to do something with.
S - now just to stay out of snacking!!!!!
Vits: yes, and I need more B12
Water: doing good today!

We have a little snow but the streets have been cleared. It's snowing in parts of Kansas City but I'm hoping we don't get much. The East Coast is really being battered. Feel sorry for them.
You would think that at 6 1/2 years out I would have the eating down and just do it. I don't. I'm sorry to say I fell into some of my pre WLS habits. Tried to eat what everyone did, just smaller amounts. It didn't work. Coming back to OH has really helped me focus on me. I'm getting out those bariatric recipes I've collected and using them. I need to cook for ME. One thing I have to do is quit relying on protein bars. When I'm working they are so handy and so tasty, but I think they help keep my sweets craving alive.
In my old life, I always thought of a snack as something sweet or popcorn. In my new life I need to choose protein for my snacks. Today, I had protein hot chocolate this morning and this afternoon I will have a Pepper Jack cheese stick. I need to ignore my husband when he has his 8:30 p.m. snack.
B: Click shake w/almond milk
S: Protein hot chocolate
L: Egg salad; cottage cheese w/4 peach slices
S: Pepper Jack cheese stick
D: Chicken cooked in celery soup; green beans
S: Try to avoid

I'm 6 1/2 years out too and definitely know what you mean! I do eat a LOT healthier than I did pre-WLS but that hasn't stopped the weight from coming back on.
Looks like you're getting back into the good eating habits! Menu looks good.

I'm already over all this cold, bitter air. It will get to -16 tonight - brrrrr...
I'm trying to curb my senseless eating (grazing) with protein drinks. I wanted to feel "full" yesterday so I made myself some scrambled eggs, then I didn't feel good... can't win!
Your menus always look good!

HI All! We got a foot of snow, and I'm bemoaning the fact my work is closed today & tomorrow, and I'm using my very limited sick leave. lol but it was submitted a while ago, and I'm lucky it was an option, so I guess I'm good. However, I am not doing much exercise and I wish I were walking more at least...
Food numbers are relatively good, although I do need more water in between the protein...
B- GNC Bannana Cream Protein Shake
L- Tomato soup w/ unflav Protein stirred in
D- GNC Choc shake
Vits- Yes
Water- need more
Yike as I write this I realized I had a snow slushie we made from fresh snow with my son, and I never even thought about it because it was a tradition when we get a big snow. Not too crazy because it was straight packed snow w/ a couple of TSP syrup drizzeled on top, but I guess whats throwing me is I never even once thought about it until 6 hrs later (now). Gonna have to work my head around that one...
