Has anyone lost 100% (or nearly) of their excess weight? I know what the estimates and averages are but just wondering. Looking at before and afters it seems like a lot of people do.

I lost 100%.  I got down to 111 and it wasn't pretty.  I am at 133 now.  At the Dr where it was the middle of the day and I think I weighted 139 with clothes, they were thrilled that I was at 80% of excess weight lost.

I also do body scan every quarter at my gym.  For the last 3 quarters I have been 23-24% body fat, which is below the normal range of 25-32%.  I do a serious weight class 2x a week and walk but not as regularly as I should, plus all the exercise with the horses.  The PT said for my age, 66, they don't want any less body fat.  I would like to be in the 125-130 range, which before put me closer to 19% fat.

Awesome! We started at the same HW too. The surgeon said I'd maybe even get into the 130's but then the nutritionist acted like probably not so I wasn't sure what to think.

I have lost 100% of my excess but still would like to lose 10 - 15 more pounds.  I am in normal BMI (23.8) but my waist is still 33 inches. I plan on determining my ideal weight when my waist is ideal.  I researched ideal waist height ratio and waist and my ideal is 27.3 inches (Im 5 ' 9").  With excess skin 27 inches is not doable  without surgery for this 51 year old lady so my goal is a 30 inch waist.  Somewhere I read that a person typically loses 1 inch in waist for every 5 pounds.  This has been true for me as well.

Anyone else setting goals on measurements and not the scale?

My doctor wanted me to lose 70% of my excess weight and I did; however, I wanted to lose 100% and was sure I would.  After all, I had WLS.  I would lose the weight and be thin forever.  Didn't work out that way.  My doctor prepared me for a lot of changes, but I don't recall being told about the honeymoon period and I would have to watch my weight after that just like anyone else having lost weight.

That's great! Did you feel like the last 10-20 were really hard to lose?

No, it wasn't hard to lose. But it's challenging to keep it off. It takes diligence, work, and avoiding the carbs.
