Getting Closer!
Thursday I have my first appointment with the surgeon, 2nd appt. with the NUT and an EGD. My goal for Thursday is to determine which surgery I will be having and hopefully schedule a surgery date for sometime in April. Today I am officially 1 lb. below a 40 BMI (naked first thing in the morning weight) so I will be sure to wear heavy clothes to my appt. on Thursday. Getting excited!
Yeah for you. I had to go thru 6 of 6 weight counceling sessions. I just found out today from my insurance company that they have approved me. I am so excited. Now I have to get my physical done by my family doctor, labs and ekg which call all be done with my family doctor. I also have to doa nutrition class that I can do on line, then I have to do a consent signing and get an EDG done by my surgeon and then my 2 week pre-op diet which I will start next Tuesday. So I can have my surgery 3/10 Woo hoo. I am so excited.
Oh hurray!!! Once I had my date, it started feeling real. Let us know as you progress!!!

Have a great apt on Thursday!!! Go with your list of questions because if your Dr is like most, you won't actually see him/her very much. Read about all the different kinds of surgery so you have your list of questions about each. All can be good, all can be eaten around. Your medical history will help you decide.

Yea! When I had my surgery mine happened very fast - 1 month from the first phone call until surgery. I was scrambling to get all my appointments done - but it happened!
As far as which surgery to have - be sure to talk to your Dr too. He may have suggestions based on the type of eating you do (love sugar, grazing, etc).
Gina used to post an article about the types of surgery and what surgery works best for what kind of eaters. (did that make sense?) With the new folks I'd like to see her post it again.
