Good morning all! I have country style rib in the slow cooker. The guys will get potatoes but none for me. I really have to buckle down and eliminate most carbs. I'm always planning to do it tomorrow, but tomorrow is today. That first year after surgery I stayed from anything with sugar but over the years I got careless. I have a large collection of bariatric recipes so I need to use them. Most of them are family friendly.
What is Lemon Tea protein? I see that on a menu. Sounds tasty.
Do you subtract fiber and sugar alcohols from carbs to get net carbs?
Breakfast - Click shake w/30 calorie almond milk
Early dinner - Country style ribs; baked kale, green beans
Supper - Ricotta pancakes (from Eggface)
Snacks - Quest bar; orange; Peanut Butter shake

So how was the PB shake? Lemon Tea is one of the Syntrax protein powders. I love it hot or cold, mixed with a tube of crystal light (generic), usually peach tea or mango peach green tea. I just do a half scoop now because I get more protein from food but used to do a whole scoop when I was working to get my protein up.
I do subtract the fiber and stuff to get net carbs. I haven't been good about counting my calcium chews in my carb total or even my chewable multis probably have some carbs. Mostly these days I just try to stay away from bread, pasta and potatoes. Probably once ever few weeks, I will have a small white or sweet potato. Haven't had pasta or rice in years.

The PB shake was good but an added spoonful of peanut butter. I really liked it with Splenda sweetened chocolate milk, but I switched to almond milk because of the carbs.
I'm stocked up on protein powder right now, but next time I need some I will try the Lemon Tea. Hope I can find some sample packets. Really don't want to buy that big jug of protein and maybe not like it.

When I had a chocolate peanut butter one before it was only good if I added more PB and more chocolate. PB2 is good flavor and not the fat of PB. I added a tablespoon of that and one of cocoa and that worked. My Dr's little store has the samples. Actually, you can order samples from Vita lady and maybe from Syntrax. I understand about spending 35-40 on a jug and not liking it.

I usually drink my Lemon Tea plain with a lot of crushed ice. It is mild enough you can add any flavoring that you want.
Carbs are a hard thing to give up but that's the only way I can stay on track. One bite can set me off for the whole day and cause a lot of damage.
