I am glad I got through the first huge step. 10 days out now. I have had a rough recovery so far. Now we are getting ready to move. We will be leaving DC area the 12 th of March heading to Georgia for a few days then Mississippi for about a week then checking in new home in Kansas around end of March Then going to see family in Ill for 2 or 3 days then back to Kansas and hubby starts work and kids atart school.

All this is scaring me , Ihad 3 temp hernia repairs and a liver biopsy when they did my RNY. When they got in there they seen liver disease.Dr said it was the begining of bad. We dont know what stage yet.

I am sure

I'm excited for you and for all the changes that lie ahead. I hope all goes well with your liver biopsy. Please keep us posted. When I have my surgery they have a good sized hernia to repair, so I am hoping it does not complicate things. I hope you feel better soon!

Some folks have a harder recovery than others.  I was 61 and although I had tons of adhesions from previous surgeries and 2 hernias that were repaired, once I was home, I recovered well and quickly.  Hopefully your liver will not hold you back.

My main thought is to have your Dr support lined up everywhere.  Your surgeon should be able to set that up for you.  I also hope he has a good program for your diet changes, etc.  That makes life a lot easier.

No matter what you have to go through, it will be easier if you are lighter weight.  And you have taken care of that issue.

Good luck, congrats on your surgery.  Let us know how you are doing.
