Menus and Miles Sunday Jan. 18th
He's doing ok. He is very social and enjoys the attention. I know he still feels bad but he had some visitors today and that made him happy.
We don't restrict visits any time unless the family does. Sometimes we do suggest a short wait before visit but not 6-8 weeks. That seems extreme. Maybe 2 weeks depending on the client and the family. I have clients who go home every weekend, kind of like my son usually comes home every weekend. We believe it is best to get someone situated in a new situation while you can help them instead of them having to go in a home when you die or end up in hospital, etc. I think it is very sad when disabled adults live at home then all of a sudden are left alone and have to be placed somewhere. That is why we put DS in a group home several years ago so he could begin having his own life, like any other adult.
