Silly Purchase
So I haven't even had the surgery yet, and I went out today and bought a pair of pants 4 sizes smaller...
My thought was my current pants could fit with a belt until about the time these size 16's fit and they could serve as a motivator/ "measuring tape" for me since my old clothes have long been donated.
LOL hoping everything goes as planned...
I think that is a very good motivator. I have a ton of clothes that I am waiting to get back in. I lost 108 lbs on WW from 10/08-5/11 and then fought to keep it off watching the scale go up and down until 1/14 at which time I had gained back all but about 20 lbs of it in about 9 months. I am looking forward to having my surgery hopefully 3/10 if my insurance approves. I have my last appointment of 6 that is required before my doctor can request approval. I have not lost much during this time. Did loss 7 lbs last visit and was told not to gain this month but also not to loss more than a couple of lbs because they don't know if insurance will approve me if I go much below the 40 bmi....because I don't have the co-morb conditions to go with it. Errrrr I am nervous now. It is easy to say don't loss much but in the same breath say don't gain!! I will just be so glad once we get past my last appoint 2/9 and submit to insurance and pray they approve!! My appointment this month I had 39.8 bmi
Every insurance is different but mine went with the 1st weight at the dr. so there was no going too low before approval. You can always stuff your pockets with heavy stuff, wear heavy clothing, etc. We learn all the tricks over time.
I also lost a bunch with WW but gained it all back plus another 40#. I am 4 years post ob now and am up from my lowest but doing ok. Maintenance is hard no matter what but at least after surgery we have a fighting chance. And a good part of why I have been successful is posting here daily on Miles and Menus and weekly on weekly weigh in.
Welcome to the LW's. Let us know as things progress.

I will stick around and let everyone know. I can't wait for my next appoint #6of6 to get here (2-9) and then the nerves waiting to get the answer from my insurance company. I hope mine goes with my first also! I so want this surgery. I think it will be a tool that will help me keep the weight off. I am watching my scale and will try to keep from gaining and hopefully loss a couple pounds...if more, you can bet I will put the rocks in pockets, wear heavy clothing and if need be wear my shoes when I get weighed again....lol
Still hoping and praying for surgery day to be 03/10
May be silly but you will be in those pants before you know it!!!
I didn't have any small clothes around either. I had been heavy for quite a while. It did seem like a long time before I was changing sizes and sometimes a size lasted longer than others even though my loss was pretty consistent over the losing period. Just don't buy much because you don't stay in anything for long. I learned to love my thrift stores and figured out which ones had the styles I like best. Every few weeks I would take a bag in and bring another bag home. Then all of a sudden when you are the same for a season, or a year, it is really amazing. I am wearing things now that I bought 4 yrs ago. And I have to admit, I still get more from thrift stores than from regular stores which absolutely send me into sticker shock. We do have a Dillards outlet here that every so often puts stuff on sale 70% off the already 60% off and I shop there too.
So smile when you look at those pants and know that before it is all over, at a 16, they will be your "fat pants".
