Hiatal Hernia & Billroth I?
Hi Everyone, its been a while since I've been on. I had an EGD recently for nausea, vomiting, and food intolerances (not dumping). The doctor found a 2 cm hiatal hernia, and said I had an extremely small pouch. She also called it a blind pouch?
The thing that most concerns me is that (as far as I know) I had RNY. Her report says that I only have one limb, and that it is likely I had the Billroth I procedure done. I have NO IDEA what that is. Does anyone have any thoughts or information? Thanks.
Pam

I have no idea what Billroth 1 procedure is and haven't googled it yet but I will. From what I understand, we have a pouch and then the remnant stomach which is left in and could be called a blind stomach because it goes nowhere. This is why we aren't suppose to have NSAIDS because if we get an ulcer there, they can't scope it or find it without surgery.

Hmmm... I looked up Billroth 1 and it sounds like RNY.... As far as 1 limb... sorry, don't know much about that.
