25-35 year old Lightweight Questions
I am really curious about loose skin after major wls. I know this depends on several factors, but I would like to hear experiences from those 20-35 with lower bmi's to start, as being young and not having as much to loose reduces the chances for loose skin. What are your ages, starting and current weight, height, and do you think you have enough loose skin to need surgery?
Thanks!!!!

Welcome!!! I don't meet any of your criteria but wanted to say hi and welcome to the lightweights. I was 61 and more than that for my BMI and I do have loose skin but I didn't when I was 40 and lost 80 lbs so your chances are good.

I'm 36 almost a year out from surgery and am 5"1 and 128 pounds. I started at 191 but had a high weight of 202. So I think we probably started out about the same size. I have areas that aren't as tight as I would like but by no means any hanging skin. If you didn't know me before you wouldn't know I had ever been very heavy I just look normal.

I was 52 when I had surgery and started at 36.8 BMI. I didn't need plastics and had no excess skin. I hadn't been heavy for very long, maybe 3 years. I had 2 kids in my thirties but you couldn't see any leftover skin from that either. Good genes, I guess.

I am 35. My BMI was 39.5 when I had surgery. I started at 232 and I am now 177. I had surgery at the end of September so I am about 3 months out. I don't have enough loose skin to have it surgically taken care of. It just looks like the skin after you have a baby. And I have had 5 so it doesn't look abnormal at all... I am still losing though but I don't forsee needing to have it surgically removed at this point.
Hi there!
We have similar stats :) I have my surgery in less than two weeks, but skin is a major concern for me too. I'm trying to be as prepared as possible, and do my part just in case it helps. Drinking lots of water, biotin and collagen supplements, and topically applying camellia oil, coconut oil, and vitamin e collagen crème often.
I so hope skin isn't an issue for me- if I have to pay for plastics I want it to at least be for something fun haha.
Hello, we have similar stats. I am 25 years old. My SW is 198LBS I would like to be at around 125 lbs. I was wondering how it went for you? How much did you lose? How long did it take? Do you have loose skin? Do you have any regrets? Or just general advice?
I know this comment is a bit late. But I do hope you see it and answer :)
