just looking around the site and wonder how often we lightweights "need" plastic surgery after goal? I'm 35 and I'm concerned my skin won't come along for the ride.

Im 35 and go for a consult in two weeks. I thought it was just chub i was hanging onto. You know not working out like i should. Untill i had a physical and my Dr. Said it wasn't fat it is skin! and my thighs too! When i bend over its all wrinkly like my friends tummy who has had a child. She also showed me how to feel the layers . It was truly weird! You can feel the fat and the skin separately. Anyway. I was 189 now 135 and getting my rear  back to 130. But i do think everyone is different,  your skin may bounce back,  i say worry about it if and when you get there. As in if your skin does or doesn't bounce back.  :)

Thanks! Makes sense! I was figuring it may look like I'd had a baby or something.

So do, some don't.  It is related to genetics and age in large part.  When I lost 80 lbs in my last 30s, my skin bounced back.  This time, I was 61 when I had surgery and I have flab.  It was worse when I was at my smallest but then you do get some fat moving around and it fills in some.  Now I have a tiny panne and flabby arms mainly.  I do weight lifting and have good muscle and DH says it has filled in (I also am at my heaviest since surgery) but I'm not sure the muscle holds up all that extra skin.  Anyway, no plastics for me.  I look pretty hot for a 65 yr old woman with clothes on and naked, oh well.  I still wear swim suits and shorts and tank tops around the farm but not out.  I love all the really cute active wear at the gym but can't go there with my flabby arms.  But I can out lift most of them, lol

That's awesome! I can't wait till my surgeon clears me for weight bearing exercise so it doesn't get too far along. :-)

Agreeing with the other posters. We can't predict how we are going to look after WLS....BUT I can assure you that if you eat the right way, listen to your tool and do some exercising you will feel like a Million Bucks!!!

At 61 I don't look so good with my clothes off but no one knows but my DH and it doesn't seem to bother him at all...hey he loved me FAT so this has to be somewhat better.  I am told constantly that I am the "cutest little thing".  I don't know why but that's how a lot of people talk to "OLD" people.....LOL.

No sense worrying about it.
