Hi Roz,
It has been a hard two weeks for us. My Son In Law's mother got sick and found out she had cancer in the top of her stomach and her esophagus. She was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. She then got pneumonia and just couldn't fight it off and passed away last Sunday morning early. It has been so sad. His dad had passed away about 7 years ago so at the age of 40, he has lost both his parents. He has 3 sisters. We have been filling in and keeping DGD#2 for them to be able to spend time with her while she was in the hospital. My parents came by last weekend and spent the weekend with us. DH's aunt was put in an assisted living after falling two times at her home. This week has been crazy at work. I'm ready to get back to normal.

Linda....I'm so sorry. Christmas had to be hard for your DD and family. We are thinking we are going to have to put our Mom in a Nursing home soon. She is getting more confused every day.
Sounds Good!

you know, if you look at all our menus, you would think it is a lightweight must have. Actually, there are folks who aren't fond of it. The Lemon tea is from Syntax and it is a powdered protein. Early out, I mixed it a scoop of protein to 20 oz of water and a tube of crystal light (generic-my favorite is Peach Mango). These days because I can eat more and get my protein in with food, I use a half scoop and a tube of peach tea. I also like it hot during this cold weather and when I was early out from surgery and didn't do cold well at all, I just drank it room temp and liked it that way. You have to be careful because it will (any protein will) curdle if you get it too hot.
Protein coffee - we all have our own way of making it that is a little different but here is how I do mine. I brew a 5 cup pot of decaf (hate instant). Then I mix powdered protein with water (some folks use milk). I do about 3/4c water and 1.5scoops of protein. I just mix it with a spoon. Then I use the protein powder mix to "cream" my coffee. I use Mint Cookie, Chocolate, Vanilla, Chocolate caramel, you get the picture. You can also use sugar free syrups to flavor it. If you don't like sweet creamy coffee drinks, you probably won't like it but I love it and it is a great way to get a protein start on my day.
We were on a 4 week pre-op Optifast diet and I didn't use it before surgery but did pretty soon after.
