help with meal planning
Good evening!
I do not post very often but do read many posts. I am currently 3 years post op RNY and struggling with a little weight gain. I was 236 lbs on surgery day and am currently about 154... my lowest weight was 144 and i would really like to see 135. Is this realistic? I am struggling with meal planning and knowing what to eat and when. It sounds so silly but i feel like i am back at square 1.
I have a friend who is not a lightweight and she is several years out. She has recently lost another 100 lbs and soon will be ready for plastics for skin removal that the dr thinks is around 30lbs. So no, it is not too late.
Many of us have gained some and are fighting to get it off and not gain more. The losing part was so easy in comparison. Most of us do low carb. Many of us still do protein suppliments. My gym does body scans and supposedly I can eat 1400 calories with no exercise. Not sure that is right but it isn't much. We really have to cut back to lose.
Check out miles and menus. several of us post daily on that and we are all vets like you. That will give you an idea of what we are eating. Please join us.

Sorry you are struggling but super happy you turned to us for support.
Awe....This shouldn't be a struggle (((HUGS))). It's pretty simple. I don't let myself go hungry. It's the carbs NOT PROTEIN that causes me to gain weight. I don't limit my Protein. If I'm hungry and I want to eat a whole plate of boiled or broiled chicken I do it. If I want meat and cheese roll-ups I don't count the slices. I have to watch my carbs and sugars big time! I am a believer in GOOD Protein drinks. Something high Protein and low carbs. I'm not able to have them right now because I have been diagnosed with IC (Painful Bladder Syndrome) so I am eating a lot more Protein during the day.
Normally I eat small frequent meals and snacks (every few hours). Basing every meal on Protein keeps me within a 3 pound range. If I'm up a pound, I up the Protein and watch my carbs and it usually only takes a couple of days to get it off.
