How do I reset my sleeve? REALLY need help
I used to be here faithfully. I had given up on myself and my surgery because at 4 and a half months I stopped loosing. By 7 or 8 months I was done. I didn't care any more tired of doing everything right and getting no results. Not one pound. i only lost 60 lbs in that time and i was exactly 100 lbs over weight. Now I have gotten hurt at work and have put on about 15 of those pounds back on due to lack of movement. I was exercising regularly before my injury just to maintain my weight. Now all I do is eat. The last week or so I've cut my portions down to a few ounces each meal and eating mostly protein. I'm not sure how to reset my belly back to post surgery and that's what I want to do. i've given up and I have to get back on track. I am a year and seven months out since surgery and am now at 45 lbs weight loss that's it nothing more. I need some help here. i refuse to believe this is where my body is comfortable or healthy My blood pressure where as it was normal before is now high enough that I have to take pills twice a day and I'm prediabetic where i was not before. My health benefits for loosing weight have not happened. I'm still progressively getting worse because I'm no where near where my ideal body weight should be. i'm not even in the obese range but still morbidly obese. Please help!! I'm scared and I need a change. help
I'm so sorry you are having problems. It is so easy to eat around all surgeries but with sleeve, you didn't get the malabsorbtion that RNY gives. There are plus and minus to that but it may have helped you.
You can get back on track. You can post on Miles and Menus with us daily. There are a bunch of us that are trying very hard to not let our old habits sneak back in.
Have you checked back in with your surgeon? Maybe now is the time to get the second half of the surgery and get a DS? Used to be that sleeves were just the first half of a DS and done during 2 surgeries instead of all at once. Will your insurance pay for a revision with your health issues?
Hopefully your injury will heal soon. I know for me, when I can't move, I eat more and get more depressed. Exercising helps my body and my mind.
HUGS, stay in touch.
I remembered 2 other things that may be helpful.
There is a 10 day pouch test that basically starts you back on full liquids and goes through the diet phases like we did in the beginning. I know you don't have a pouch but maybe it is worth looking at for a jump start.
Also, around 5 months, my losing really slowed down. I found if I ate the same number of calories, but low carb, I kept losing. I still find that low carb is the only way I can keep from gaining. Just a thought!!

I couldn't find the pouch test but since I have my menu planned out for the day I guess I will see how this goes first. I know my tummy still has a bit of restriction so getting back on track SHOULD be easy but now I have to do the hard part and get out of the head hunger again. That as we all know is the hard part :'( I hope that since it's been so long since I have lost that I will start loosing again. My biggest calorie intake was my coffee. I drink SOOOOOOO much creamer with each cup. I was probably drinking half my calories if not more. SO this should help i hope.
You might want to try protein coffee. Many of us do that. You mix protein powder with water or ??? and use that as creamer. A scoop of protein is about 100 calories and in 2/3 c of water, will cream the coffee from a 5 c coffee maker. My favorite is mint cookie but vanilla cinnamon is good too. You can also use SF syrups to flavor coffee and that is calorie free.

Sorry you are having problems. I agree with everything Price said.
Are you weighing and measuring your food? Do you put it into some program such as MyFitnessPal? This is so you can see exactly what you are doing as far as calories, carbs, fat, etc. Sometimes those little extra bites really add up fast. The smaller you are the less you need to keep your body going and since you can't exercise it will be a lot harder now. I know I've added some weight the last few months, but I know mine is from what I am eating and not tracking my food good and night time snacking.
Always do Protein first. Really limit your carbs. Like Price suggested, post your meals on the Menus and Miles and maybe one of us will notice something that might help you.
Good luck and keep us updated.

You can do it. Eat real food 3x a day.
Protein, as many green veggies as you want, low fat dressing, roasted veggies without oil and 1 fruit a day. Your carbs are 1 fruit and non starchy veggies. Make big salads that are visually appealing to you. Load 4 ounces of protein on top.
Get off the couch. Move your body. No lame excuses.
Drink lots of water, herbal tea. Black coffee or tea. Green tea.
Get lots of sleep. Take vitamins.
sing, dance, celebrate every pound as it comes off.
No pity party. No five minute party in your mouth.
if you want this, you'll make it happen. It took me 1.5 years to get to my goal. If you give up on yourself, everyone else will too. Believe in yourself. You deserve it.
Check into Roz's menu thread every single day. Go to an OA meeting if you need to. We all need lots of support. Tell your eating buddies that you're done. Food is no longer recreational.
bravo for coming here and telling your truth.
I'm almost five years out. I have a log of everything I've eaten and what I weighed and what exercise I did for every.single.day since pre-op.
Hugs!!!

Today is my first day back on myfitnesspal.com I figured out all of my food for the day last night. I just ate my breakfast of cottage cheese. I measured it out and ate it slowly. I pulled out my trusty scale and will be using that for dinner (chicken have to weigh it) I'm going to continue to be honest with what i'm eating and what i'm doing though i tend to forget to track my movement on myfitnesspal. I dyed my hair yesterday and danced about half the time the color was setting so it's a start I guess. I am completely out of shape though or I would have made it the whole way through my hair. baby steps i guess. Coffee is going to be hard on me because I usually drink it with lots of creamer SO I'm trying to avoid it at all costs today. I have some tea I'm going to work on instead.
You had spoke of the salads, I LOVE THEM I can eat a lot more salad than I can any other food... a good cup or cup and a half but I couldn't handle a whole 4 oz of meat on it. I love salad with ham and turkey in it or chicken and I use a vinegrette. I also make the salad mostly spinach mmm YUM its funny how much salad I can eat though and I can never gage how much to make because sometimes I can eat half a cup sometimes almost two.
Thanks everyone I appreciate the support. I have about 700 calories figured out for today and it seems like a lot of food, now if i can lock the fridge and cupboards between meals and I should be good. lol. I know it's not a laughing matter but its terrible that i still have the small tummy but can eat all day by grazing...why would I do something so stupid?? Any way thanks a lot everyone I'm going to go to log my meals now.
