5year Anniversary!
My journey wasn't the easiest but definitely worth it. This week I went for my yearly gynecological appointment. The first thing my OB/GYN said to me was that I have done awesome maintaining my weight loss. I said it hasn't been easy but it's worth it. He said it shows. There are days I would love to be back in a size 4. I have maintained and have stayed in a size 6 for 3 years. My lowest weight was 109. My most comfortable weight is around 125. I am currently at 127. Considering the alternative I will take it. 5 years ago on thanksgiving day they were not sure if I would live or die. I had gastric bypass three days before thanksgiving. I was scheduled to go home that day but spiked a fever during the night and I was in a tremendous amount of pain. I remember them rushing me into emergency surgery and my husband looking so sad. I woke up with tubes coming out of me. I had an incision from my breast bone past my belly button. I was told if I had been sent home that day I would have died on the way. I had a bowel obstruction. My body was shutting down. That emergency surgery saved my life. I am forever thankful to have my life back. The weeks that followed were beyond hard. I went home with tubes hanging out everywhere. Home health was in and out of our home daily for over a month. I literally had to learn to put one foot in front of the other. I am a firm believer in what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Since then my life has changed tremendously. I am most thankful for simply a chance at life. It is the little things we take for granted. When I look at my scars I know they are my stripes of victory. God has allowed me to see my children grow up. He gave me a husband that has loved me literally through thick and thin, in sickness and in health. I couldn't ask for more.💕⚓️
Happy surgiversary, babeeee!
