I am scheduled for VSG on Thursday.  I am excited and scared.  I want to lose 80 pounds in all.  I would even be happy with 60. My husband is having VSG in December.  I am so ready to be on the other side! Oh, I am 220 lbs, 5' 3" and 35.

Welcome to the LW board.

I was 220 when I started (only I am 4'11" and was 61 at surgery) and had a RNY.  I got down to 111 so don't limit your dreams.  My first goal was 140 and I just breezed by that.  It will be great to have you and your hubby on the same plan so you can support each other.

We support all surgery types so let us know if we can help along the process!!!

Welcome. I live in a two sleeve house too. It will be a great adventure for both of you. I post here and on the VSG board as well. Feel free to pop over on the VSG board if you have surgery specific questions. This board is full of great people who are super friendly and supportive.

Welcome to the board and best of luck on your surgery.  I was scared too and to be honest for the first two weeks after I was afraid I made a big mistake.  I didn't! I am happier and healthier than I have ever been.  I didn't have the sleeve, I had RNY and I had a pretty rough time right after surgery with high fever etc.  Then, freak of nature that I am, I had hunger almost immediately and I still struggle with it, but I am almost at my goal and I have had no complications and NO REGRETS! Get ready for your new life, it is so fun!

Hey all!!  I'm new here as well.  I fit into soooo many categories.  HW recorded was 265.  I was banded in March 07 at 222lbs.  After issues and complications I was sleeved in Jan 2013 at 159lbs.  Now, after dealing with major GERD issues, I'm revising to RNY on 12/5/2014.  The GERD has caused me to eat less healthy and thus gain weight.  Still considered a lightweight though because my BMI is under 30.  Hoping 3rd times the charm!

Welcome to our LW Board!!  WOW you have been through a lot.  It's great that you haven't given up on your dream.

I don't get heartburn any more but I still take my Prilosec every day.  When I'm not taking it my belly rumbles and feels like it is having hunger pains.

Welcome to the LW board.

Wow, you could tell the story from lots of perspectives for sure.  I hope this is your final surgery and you make me even happier I chose RNY from the beginning.  Like Roz, I do Prilosec daily and can feel the burn if I don't.  Stick around and let us know how it goes.

Welcome to our LW Board!!!   Congrats on you and your DH's upcoming WLSurgies!!!  I envy those of you who were smart enough to have surgery in your 30's and younger.  My DD (darling daughter) wanted me to have surgery at least 10 years earlier but I didn't know anyone who had it done so I just brushed her off.

Don't limit yourself to home many pounds you want to lose.  Go as low as your body will go because there is bounce back when you started on Maintenance.
