Pain meds and RNY
So over the weekend I was dislodged from my carriage and didn't fall out but when I came down, I came down right on my tailbone on the metal arm rest. I can barely sit which is difficult because most of my work is at a desk and most of my fun is driving my pony, both of which involve sitting. tyelonal is doing nothing. I hate real pain meds and they way they make me feel. Plus I won't drive the car and can't get much desk work done on them because they make me so foggy. I have not taken NSIDS since surgery but am thinking I may have to. If I go to the Dr, is there anything else they can give me? Would some kind of steroids help? I've done soaks with epsen salts and that isn't helping. Help!!!

When I had some problems with my arthritis I used a cream and later found out it was a NSAID. It didn't bother me but then I didn't use it for very long.
I would hope if you took something for your stomach you would be ok taking Aleve or something like that for a few days(just not too many), but I'm not positive. Can you call your surgeon's office and asked them about it.
Hope you feel better soon!!

AWE Price. I feel terrible for you.
I've taken Ibuprofen since surgery because Tylenol never seems to help. I had a prescription after my gall bladder but I only took a few of them when I was in the hospital. They tried the pain meds in my bladder but I passed out from them. I guess they must have gotten into my system too quickly.

I'm probably going to take something today because I have to sit in meetings all day. I just don't have time to sit at a Dr for them to tell me they can't do anything except prescribe me something I won't take anyway. Hopefully lots of protein and calcium will help!!!

I try to avoid NSAIDS too... but lately with my tendonitis flaring up, its the only thing that touches it. I always make sure I have a full pouch with food (not liquid).
I can only imagine how bad that hurt - and a bruised tailbone is NO fun. I've taken hydrocodone with my surgeries post RNY, but its a narcotic and you shouldn't drive with it.
I hope you're feeling better soon.... swinging critters for you.

Price, I am sorry you are hurting. Just be VERY careful if you do NSAIDS and if topical works best, use those as they cause fewer direct issues than those that have to travel the blood stream to get to the source of the hurt.

I took 2 ibruprophine on Thurs when I had to sit in meetings all day but it didn't help much. Today I bought a ****ix pillow and that was helpful in the car while I was driving around to see my staff. I think I may try to drive the pony with it tomorrow. I have another competition in 2 weeks and he has to stay fit enough to compete. This sucks.
