Calling all Lurkers!!!
Not everyone, but most of us, go through a time after surgery that we could care less about eating. I miss that, LOL. The post surgery diet is very important so we can heal but it is such a short time in the grand scheme of things that you will be able to do it.
Does your Dr group have a good support group? Mine was 1.5 hr away so I used this board for my support and questions. It is important to be locked in somewhere to get the help and support we need to be successful.
Good luck on your surgery next week!!!

Hi, I'm Missy. I'm a lurker and thought I'd poke my head in and say 'Hi'.
I'm in the process of jumping through all the hoops I need for my surgery. Today, cardiology cleared me and I attended my Lifestyle Change course. I've got to redo my mammogram and have my well woman exam, psych and then wait for them to schedule me. My nurse practitioner says that my RNY will be some time in November or December.
I'm scared to death, honestly, but excited at the same time. I'm sure a lot of you understand that feeling. LOL
Welcome, Missy. Yes, it does seem like forever in the beginning but then, wham, the day is here and our lives are changed forever. You can do this. Surgery will give you a tool to stay healthy for the rest of your life.

Hi. I'm Holli, also a lurker. I've been reading these forums for a few months now.
I'm 28 years old, 5'0", with a highest weight of 289 lbs (BMI 56.4). My VSG surgery is this Tuesday.
I've learned a lot from these forums regarding what to expect after the surgery. Thanks to all of you regulars for your information, advice, and questions. I'm definitely way more informed than I would be without you.
Hi Holli
