Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
Over the Hump Day Lightweights!!! Early out I had several rules I had to follow after having my RNY. Those of you on Maintenance...Do you still use a small plate, follow the drinking before/after rules, protein first, etc.? How about carbonated drinks? What rules do you still follow and which ones have you been slipping on lately? I've broken the carbonated rule a few times lately and it actually burns the whole way down. I wonder how I ever drank this before WLS.....BUT it hasn't stopped me from trying it again.... .

I need to remember to do this more often. Busy day so I kept my menu simple:
Breakfast: Premier Protein Shake - 30g protein, 1g carbs, 160 calories
Snack: Dannon Lite and Fit Banana Greek Yogurt - 12g protein, 9g carbs, 80 calories
Lunch: 2 oz Pureed Chicken Breast blended with 2oz water and Unjury Chicken Soup Protein 1/2 scoop - 19g protein, 1g carbs, 106 calories
Snack: Dannon Lite and Fit Toasted Coconut Greek Yogurt - 12g protein, 9g carbs, 80 calories
Dinner will probably be the same as lunch and my snack will probably be another Greek yogurt. I gotta get to the store for more ingredients for baked ricotta! So I should come in around 104 grams protein (my minimum is 80, no maximum as long as I stay 800 calories or below), 30g carbs, and 612 calories.
I get the Matrix 5lb bags of Mint Cookie, chocolate and vanilla from Netronics. But I get the 2# lemon tea and Caribean cooler from Lucky Vitamin. One is way cheaper for one and the other is way cheaper on the other. Weird. I liked Fuzzy Navel in the beginning and the coffee one but have just been doing these for over a year now. Every so often I will get a carmel chocolate from GNC or something like that but I really can do with these and some SF syrups

Love my Matrix Mint Cookie!! There are a lot of sites cheaper than Amazon. I buy my Proteins through AllStarHealth.com. Free delivery if you buy 2 items. Good prices and super fast delivery. I buy 6 months at a time.
I buy my Syntrax through them too. I like the Lemon Tea plain but it is mild enough you can add any flavoring to it. You can buy a variety pack (15 full servings) for $16.99 includes P/H at 866-333-7403 ext. 800, M-F 8:00-5:00 Central time. The company is called S103.

I still follow the basics. Still no caff, no sodas, don't drink with meals and usually wait at least an hour. I don't weigh or measure any more and I know I should. I eat too fast and use a big plate. I still supplement my protein with drinks and plan meals around protein and veggies.
I had an all day meeting that was pretty interesting but long. They provided all the food but I was able to stay ok with the choices. Then went to muscle pump tonight. I leave in the morning for Va to see my sister, her daughter and baby (closest thing I have to a grandchild). We are going to spend a long weekend at the lake so it should be very relaxing.

Hi Roz,
Finally home and finished with the work I had to do to get ready for my travel day tomorrow.
I do still try to eat off a small plate most of the time. I never did the drinking before meals time but still do the 45 minutes after meals before drinking. Have not had carbonated drinks and do not plan on starting that back - I was a big diet coke drinker before surgery and vowed to myself I would not start it back up. Sweets & Carbs are the things I have the hardest time with. I have noticed that if I have about a week of really good protein first and no sugar or bad carbs if I eat sugar or carbs does not take as much to make me sick.

DGD#2 and I sat in the doctors office for over 2 hours this afternoon for her little school check up. I was almost furious before we left. They had overbooked so many patients the place was packed. They said they had worked until 9pm the night before and did not even go to lunch today.
