Sigh... I wanna cry...
Stressful week with my daughter being diagnosed last Friday with Ehlers Danlos syndrome. My other two kids will be tested over the next few weeks. I've had to lessen my exercise to 30 minutes on the treadmill a day, no weight, nothing that will stress my joints until I see my doctor/pt/rheumatologist about Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. (Chances are HIGH that I have it as well. Either me or my ex husband have to have it for my daughter to have it and it runs in my family). Can't see my rheumatologist until September 5th UGH. I'm sticking to my plan (pureed foods, 80 grams protein, 800 max calories a day, 3 meals and 2-3 snacks, at least 80 oz of liquids a day). Will come of pureeds and onto soft foods Friday (YAY). Work schedule has been off this week due to appointments, work schedule will be off next week too. Had to start working on Sundays. Doing all I'm supposed to do (and even some I'm not - like walking around the amusement park for 6 hours on Thursday and walking around my sister's neighborhood today for 4 hours going to yard sales) and when I stepped on the scale today, I was up a pound :( I know its probably water weight but it's just not what I needed today.
Sorry to whine... I just needed to vent a little...
Here's a big hug from us all. Could be TOM or water, I wouldn't worry about the pound. I bounce around a lot. Here is hoping that you will get a good diagnosis and I hate that you have to wait so long. That seems like a really long time to wait.
So take this as a time to remind yourself that this is for the rest of your life. There is no special prize if you get to goal in 9 month or 18 months. And once at goal, you just keep on keeping on. You are doing great and you will continue to. Part of this journey is learning how to deal with stress, depression and all those sh*#y times in our life that make us what to forget it all and over eat.
You can do this. You are doing great and you need to just keep on keeping on.

Thanks Price S. ::hugs right back atcha:: I'm trying to focus on the positives now that I got to vent a little. I got to spend time with my sister, mom, dad, and two of my kids today. My dad said he almost didn't recognize me because I was so much smaller... my sister called me the 'skinny sister'... and my mom said I look great (my mom doesn't freely give compliments). I just wasn't expecting a gain this week, but oh well. Maybe more will come of next week. Once again, thanks... OH rocks and the Lightweights are AH-MAY-ZING!
All Whining allowed! Sorry to hear about your DD. How old is she? Can it skip a generation? Hopefully you will get tested soon.
I never worry (or count) a pound up or down unless it sticks a couple of days.
Keep us posted!

Thanks so much, Roz. My daughter is 16. Unfortunately, since Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is autosomial dominant, either me or my ex-husband have to have it. I can range in severity from mildly annoying to crippling. I'll be seeing my doctor next week to get tested, though we're pretty sure its me, since I have a family history of it. Today was even more appointments, including two for my youngest daughter who is twelve. She got referrals for testing for it and to see a cardiologist because she has a significant heart murmur. ::sigh:: I'm taking things a little better today than I was when I posted a few days ago. I've been doing better about not worrying about a pound if it doesn't stick around. This morning I was at 189, but I may bounce around next week since I move on to a new stage of eating on Friday. On to soft foods! WOOT WOOT WOOT! Almost to 'regular' foods :)
You guys on OH Lightweights are amazing and so supportive!
Now I'm off to middle school orientation (after FOUR doctor's appointments today). Then I'll be ready for bed. LOL.
16...wow and 12 to have a heart murmur. Does the 16 yr. old have symptoms and that's why you got her tested? You are doing very good for being stressed over your kids. I am a stress eater and I think I would have tried to figure out how to work around my RNY.

My youngest (12yo) has had health issues from day one when she decided to make her grand entrance 12 weeks early weighting just a little over 2 pounds. The heart murmur had resolved itself (or so we thought) but its back. My 16 year old is very very very flexible with joint pain (and she dislocates her hips at will) and kept getting pleurisy. Got a referral to rheumatology because of the pleurisy because they thought she might have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, but it ended up being Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Her body makes defective collagen. It can range from mild to severe. She is considered moderate. Being stressed I'm trying to keep food simple so I don't stress eat. Though I did have two bites of watermelon today, but other than that I stuck to plan. I can have fruits and veggies starting today, but not sure if watermelon is ok or not as my plan wasn't overly specific. Thanks so much for asking and for the support and encouragement!
When are you getting tested?
I love it but I can't eat much watermelon. I don't eat a lot of fruit because the extra sugar because it makes my scale move in the wrong direction.

I'm getting tested on 8/28, though it's a pretty sure thing with it being on my side of the family and genetically dominant, that I'm the one who passed it to her. I have fibromyalgia and am 'double jointed' and have dislocated more joints than I can count. I may not have it as severely as she does. I'll have the results on my youngest daughter on 9/12.
I love watermelon as well, but two tiny bites that I had made my stomach protest, so I can't see me eating it very often. I'm not a big fruit person, excep****ermelon and blackberries. Any other fruit, I have the attitude that I can take it or leave it. Veggies are another story though... cucumbers and broccoli are a true weakness for me.
Hope all is well in your world. Thanks so much for your support. YOU ARE AWESOME!
