Five Years

Five years ago I  had RNY surgery.  I really wanted to make a permanent change in my life and was so desperate to be able to live my life to the fullest and get healthy.  Best decision ever.

My highest weight was 248.5.  I got down to 126.5 and this morning I was 131.5.  I got up to 134.5 and am working on getting this back off.  I can tell you that staying connected to some type of support group is one of the most important keys to success with WLS.  I like so many others let life take over and I was not as careful with my eating and my support as I should be.  I allowed sugars(as much as I could) and bad carbs back in and boy do they take over quickly.

I am so thankful to all the great support I have received here and know that if I had not had all of you I would not be nearly as succesful - so thank you so much!!!

I love being able to do things now that I never thought I would be able to do again.  Love, love, love playing with the grandkids.

I still need to get back with the exercise. It makes me feel so much better and I really enjoy walking/jogging.  Of course my excuse is the same as most everyones - not enough time, but there really is if you make it a priority and that is what I need to do.

Now for the pictures.  The before was the night before my son's wedding and it was probably my heaviest.

Below is a picture of my husband and I in Las Vegas in May of this year.

So if you are just starting out, you can do this.  It is a tool though and will not be a magic cure for the rest of your live and it is HARD work but so worth it.
