My drain got pulled today! I just took one of the best showers ever. I also got admonished a little by the RN and PA at my surgeon's office for telling them my morning protein drink was a 50/50 juice water blend with isopure unflavored. Which is in the handouts they gave me! But they're like oh no that's the hospital's stuff, just pay attention to the things we give you. Well technically you did give me this. Grrrr. They did tell me I could have jello and egg drop soup now in addition to protein drinks and broth, so that's nice. I stopped and bought a container from a chinese place on the way home, and couldn't even taste the isopure I mixed in, so yay. I'm not sure if it's cause of my taste buds have changed but I can barely tolerate the milky protein shakes I liked before surgery. The unjury chicken I ordered should be here tomorrow, and that should help.

B: 50/50 water and trop50 orange juice mixed with a scoop of isopure unflavored (I could taste the isopure so not being able to have this anymore is no great loss)

L: egg drop soup mixed with isopure unflavored

S: a popsicle that I am about to have

D: more soup or I may make one of eggface's protein ice cream recipes.

Congrats! That first drain-free shower is the best. And I love the Unjury Chicken Soup. I get sick of the sweet shakes and it helps to have a salty choice. I get sick of sweet yogurt, too, so I make tzatziki (Greek cucumber yogurt dip) and eat a whole 8 oz. (20g protein) with veggie dippers. High protein, low cal, satisfies my snacking urge, and delish.

I remember the same feeling.  I thought I would die if I had to drink another sweet anything.  I did a lot of unflavored protein in blended food or greek yogurt.  The Unjury chicken soup was a life saver.  Good news is it doesn't last and in the grand scheme of things, these few weeks are a blink in the rest of your life.

Congrats on drain free and I get conflicting info also. My surgeon doesn't think revisions benefit from the nutritionist really so I'm wild and free. He said if I can lose 125 with the band I can do anything :). I saw my surgeon for my two week appointment yesterday too. He's like problems? Questions? Incisions look great purées two more weeks add mushies so slowly like two tsp at a time and see you in 4. Crazy right? Like peace out. Lol.
