I'm here on the other side!

So I had laproscopic RNY surgery on Monday and came home around dinnertime yesterday. I feel pretty good, aside from the drain and other unavoidable post-surgical limitations. I'm hoping that I continue to heal up quickly, they seemed pretty happy at the hospital at how soon I was able to be up and walking in the hall, and being able to pass urine. I hope to never have a catheter again!

Fingers crossed that they will take this drain out at my 1 week followup on Monday! I know it's a good thing, and all this stuff is better flowing out than being trapped inside, but still... UGH. I hope it's all flowed out by then =)

I can't believe I never posted here again when I got a surgery date. I thought I had but guess not.

And thank you everyone for the support you offer!

Thank you! I have a feeling that's what my life is going to consist of for the next few weeks. I'm shocked that I didn't need a nap today, but I'll probably go to bed pretty early.

Sounds like you are doing great.  Yeah, the drain is a pain but it will be out soon enough.  Glad to have you on the loser's bench!!!  Now, as Gina said, rest, sip, walk and you will be amazed at what is getting ready to happen.  Take your measurements now because there could be times you aren't losing pounds but inches.  Follow your plan, get in your fluids and let us know if we can help.  We love to hear how folks are doing.

Good idea, thank you. I haven't taken measurements in ages.

And I need to stay connected here. I think it'll be important for me doing well in the long-term, not just in terms of loss but in terms of eating more healthfully.

Thank you, and I'll do my best. My mom is here keeping an eye on me, so she'll let me know if I'm pushing too hard.

Congrats! I'm just a week ahead of you, and my revision to sleeve was a 3 for one...but it gets better. Just sip all day :-). And take meds as permitted and needed.

Awesome!!!  Super Excited for you!!!!!!

I fortunately didn't have a drain tube. That must be something that's up to your Surgeon.
