Not everyone who drinks diet soda regains weight, but a large percentage of those *****gain weight drink soda. I noticed this from personal observation (I have a lot of WLS friends) and friends of mine who work in bariatric centers have told me the same thing. Not sure of the correlation, but it is enough for me not to drink it at all.

My program states that it can not stretch your pouch/sleeve because you do belch to release that excess gas. However their advice was once you give it up and live with out it ....why go back? I think for some that is easier said then done. My mom had gastric bypass and waited 18 months now drinks a lot of diet Dr pepper and is still a size 4 so I would say within moderation it's fine. I personallyou think I will not go back because of the other issues soda cause but that's just me.
