Sounds like a great trip.  What will you be traveling in?  We did a similar, shoter trip a few years ago to Maine and back.  Drove 4-5 hrs a day then parked.  Stayed over a day in a few places.

I can cover for you most of that time.  I won't be around on July 6.  Actually, you are still home then.

WTG, Price!

Thank you for covering. I do appreciate it.

We were gonna rent a class C rv but the milage involved put us at 6k just to rent the RV. So we looked at other options, ended up buying a 2010 Forest River Flagstaff pop up camper in very good shape that had A/C! And included was the trailer hitch for our SUV that dh wanted anyway. :)

Even if we just use it this one time, it will pay for itself and NO ONE can tell us no dogs!

When we did our trip, we were going to borrow a trailer and after hauling it home, DH said no way.  We ended up buying an RV and selling it for what we paid for it when we got home.  I love camping but DH never wanted to go with me so it wasn't worth keeping.  I ended up with a camping horse trailer so I still get to camp

WTG. Anne!

Only hassle with flying is three dogs and missing the middle half of the country!

oh yes.  We aren't dog people, but my husband has an aunt who travels around in an RV with 4 or 5 dogs and some cats.  Come to think about it kid or dogs which would be harder LOL

I wasn't til DH decided he wanted some dogs. So we got a brother/sister pair of littermates. Then a month ago, we inherited my daddy's dog. So now we are three dogs!

I don't travel with cats, moving them is bad enough. I would not torture them to travel just to travel.
