Hi Roz,

Last work day today - yeah!!!  I spent most of tonight looking at my retirement and trying to figure a way to not work another year-don't think it is going to happen though.  I just need to suck it up and work the next year and 2 months.  Al just laughs at me when I pull out all my paperwork and start figuring.  I told him didn't he remember how anxious he got the closer it got.

How long have you worked at your job?  I've only been here 4 years and I just told our Director he is going to be stuck with me for a long time because I don't plan on retiring any time soon.  He said that was OK with him.  Maybe after DH retires I will change my mind but unless he bugs me to quit I can't see it happening. I was bored to death when my other company closed and I was there 18 years.

Sounds Good!

I have worked at the library since 2000.  From 2000 to 2006 it was part time.  I have been with the state since 1986, but have some sick leave built up that goes towards my retirement.  We can retire with either 30 years of service or age 60 with full benefits.  I am pretty sure I'm just going to go out July 2015 as of right now.

That's probably when DH will retire too.  We are waiting to see what the new contract has in it.  We were told it was going to pay for our insurance until we turn 65 and then cover the difference of Medicare after that.  I didn't have any a retirement plan for the 18 years I worked at the jewelry store and I haven't been at this job long enough so it's a good thing I'm not ready to retire. Yours sounds like a stressful job and the only stress I have is wanting to help young mothers with children and there aren't enough resources in the budget.
