3 month stall - ugh any one going throught this recently??
It seems I have been stuck at 38-40 lb weight loss, and it is almost my 3 month appointment! I am desperate to restart this weight loss! I have seemed to fizzle down to a lousey 1 lb - if any - a week! I have written down all the foods I have eaten to really get a good snap shot of my intake, but it seems to be all the same! I have increased my exercise, and protein and water, but it seems to have not improved. Any tricks out there to help restart the loss - or even a menu that I can follow to get better results?
40 lbs in 3 months? I think that's great! That's an average of over 13 lbs a month! I think you are right on track.
Instead of pounds tho (I know, it's hard) think of percentage of body fat. You will be surprised at just how far you've come!
It took me 10 months to get to my goal I think for my first 3 Months I was at 33...
Just keep doing the right things. Also, post on our Menus and Miles post and others will chime in to your menu - whether it's good or you need some help. Are you keeping your carbs down to below 30 or so?
Also - how are your clothes fitting? Sometimes when the scale isn't moving our clothes keep getting looser... did you take measurements before surgery? I took them every month on my monthly surgiversary and recorded them. That's what kept me sane during the times when it seemed the scale just wasn't moving enough for me.

Thanks! I am down about 2 two dress sizes! and I have lost about 140cm>(56inches) so far - it is just frustrating to not see the scale move. I am trying to keep the carbs low - but I have to be honest I havn't really been paying that close attention to the grams of intake. I am focusing so much on the protein and the water - and trying to relieve my constipation from all my calcium!!!!
I do feel good - but I feel like when people ask me how much I have lost I have been saying 40 lbs - FOREVER!!! Thanks for your support!
You are doing great!!!. It is hard when the scale doesn't show it. At your stage, I was religious about tracking my food. If I knew I was eating right, it was easier to believe it was going to move again and I could stay positive. The other thing that helped me was at about 5 months when my loss really slowed down. I found that if I kept my carbs under 30net, I could eat the same # of calories but keep losing. If I let the carbs go up, the weight loss slowed or stopped. My plan was also for 5-6 meals a day, protein based with suppliments. I think that helps but some drs insist on 3 meals, no snacks. That wouldn't have worked for me.
Post for a while on miles and menus and see what folks recommend.

At 3 months out my WL slowed down too. 1-2 lbs. a week was the max! I think that's pretty normal for us lightweights, actually. You're doing all the right things. If you are getting 40 grams or less of carb per day, doing 80 grams of protein per day and drinking at least 80 oz. of water AND exercising...you are doing it right.
The one thing that I did when I hit mini-stalls was to add in some extra fat once every week or so. Yes, it raised my calories over 800 for the day but I didn't give a damn because it worked every time. What I used were nuts, avocado, butter, oil, etc. And I always ate full-fat dairy. Screw that low-fat or no-fat crap! It's full of chemicals and not good for you anyway :-)
SORRY HAD TO DELETE PRIOR POST - TOO MANY SPELLING AND GRAMMER ISSUES!! LOL!
Sounds great I will start doing that - without feeling guilty - GUILT is so overpowering - almost like I am afraid to eat anything!!! I have to continuously give my head a shake to keep myself eating! U can easily go without eating anything - or drinking - and that is my biggest down fall!! It doesn't seem to be eating too much - but rather eating too little!! This is such a psycological experience - it really bring the crazy out ! Food has always been such an issue - never overeating but instead undereating! weird! I am also posting on the menu boards to get some ideas!
thank you all!
I am in the same boat. I have my 3 month check up next week. I was worried that the scale hadn't been moving for weeks. Then, this past week, I am down 2# and down 1# so far this week. It is a challenge being a light weight. I so want to be in onederland. I am down a total of 40# since surgery and think it's pretty good. I do have another 50# to go but, if I keep on doing what I am doing, it will come off. Yours will too!!!
