Menus and Miles for Roz - Wednesday, April 23rd
Yea - it's Hump Day! I have some contractors coming over this week to give me bids for putting on a front porch/deck and one in the back and am trying to keep myself sane with the scheduling. I had to call one today and ask when he's coming over... ugh... It's tough when I only have a short time here in MI to try and get everything done -especially now the weather has turned nice and there's SO much to do outside! Oh, and work keeps getting in the way - LOL... at least I work from home and have that flexibility.
Roz is busy getting her work done before she leaves for vacation on Friday, so I'll get this going today.
I vowed I was back on track yesterday, but didn't do so well after 6pm... that's usually when I get into things I shouldn't.
Today's menu:
B - coffee
L - leftover low-carb cheeseburger soup - that turned out pretty good and one of those dishes that is even better the next day. I should have put some mushrooms in it too that would have been great. It called for bacon but I didn't have any..
S - a few peanuts here and a few cashews there
D - low carb cheeseburger soup again unless I get a better offer
Water: still drinking coffee - need to get on it
Vits: yes

Hi Jody. Sounds like you've got quite a home improvement project going. I need to get bit by that bug too. We bought our house 2 years ago and still haven't finished the works. I'm fed up with living in a construction zone. Just need to win the lottery to get it done soon!

Well yes... money is an issue and I'm spending more than I should, thus the numerous bids to get a real feel for what everything will cost.
I lived in a construction zone when i first bought the place - I WON'T do that again. There are so many folks that do jobs on the side, and I found out MY job isn't the priority. It's #1 job first, family 2nd and any side work they have as 3rd... so only companies that do it full time.
I don't think I'll ever be done!

I love our back porch!! We spend a lot of time on it. I've been trying to find someone who will put railings on my small front porch and I guess it's too small a job because I'm not having any luck. I think DH and I might try to do it ourselves.

I've got 4 people coming out to give me bids. So far the first 2 HAVE shown up - I feel something good there!
I have a screened porch in the back and love it. I am putting a small deck out back to cover a dirt portion that is horrible and never gets any sun and will put my generator hut on it.

I must move south, it snowed AGAIN yesterday. Spring is a joke this yr. it tricked me into taking the protective leaves off my flowers. I hope they make it to the next warm up!
