Six Years

On 4/21/14, I celebrated six years since my RNY.  The first year was a roller coaster, losing 105 pounds in that time, and learning to live with my itty bitty tiny pouch.  I had gallbladder surgery at 8 months out, an intestinal hernia while pregnant with my daughter sometime around 2 years out, and managed to get to my goal weight of 127 pounds and maintain it for 5 years.  Now, in the last couple years, I have gone through the stress of divorce, moving (twice) and job changes, plus started attending school again.  My focus on my body as a temple has wavered, and in the last year I have gotten to 140 pounds.  This was my original goal weight, so it shouldn't make me as anxious as it does, but the simple fact of the matter is I am most comfortable in my own skin when I weigh 127 pounds.  So on the six year anniversary of my RNY, I decided to start focusing on all the things I'm supposed to focus on again - protein first, no drinking with meals, and exercise.

What weight loss surgery has taught me more than anything, is that I am capable of reaching my goals.  Good luck to all of you just starting out in your journeys and "hello" to those of you that I remember from way back!  Your support and encouragement meant so much to me then, and I am amazed to see that you are still here.  That's awesome!

xoxo,
Tricia

Hi Tricia - good to see you!  You and I have gone through some of the same issues over the past 6 years - except I didn't have a baby!

I too have seen 140 and am more comfy at the 127-132 range and am trying to get myself back there, currently sitting at 137.  Mine started creeping up about 2 years ago...

Happy Surgiversary!
