Well I do not want a facelift, but I want to not look so old.  I am 69--I can not believe it.  9 years out from RNY--trying to lose 20 lbs regain.  Good surgery--my doctor thinks I am a model patient.  BUT my face is really showing age.  I think part of it is inherited, but some is weight gain and losing fat face.  Anybody have had botox or fillers to lift face??

Why yes I have (anyone else surprised?  LOL).  I've had a few nips/tucks/injections in my time...

I've had botox in my forehead (horrible wrinkles there), around my eyes and in my neck muscle (she swore it would take care of my turkey gobble but it didn't).  I've also had fillers under my eyes (huge dark circles and I looked forever tired).  I've been very happy with both experiences.

But - fillers last about a year - and I've talked to my PS about permanent work under my eyes.  That would involve fat injections, etc.  At this point I'm not too worried about it as the fillers are still working.  I had Juvederm. My girlfriend had it in the nasal folds and she loved it.

Botox takes touchups about every 3-4 months (if you want the results to remain the same).  I was just looking in the mirror yesterday and was thinking it might be time for another touchup.  She originally gave me botox on the outside of my eyes for the crows feet and that HURT!!  Mine weren't all that bad at the time, so I'm not sure if the results were really there for that.  I had 50cc's used on me.

It can be expensive... and shop around carefully for the person you want to do it and be sure they are licensed.

Thanks for the advise.  i remember reading online that drs do not use botox on patients over 65.  probably not true.

I'm 3.5 yrs out and my face looked really gaunt for a while but then better, now wrinkled again.    I'm 65 and so I guess I deserve a few wrinkles.  No plans for any help with them other than moisturizer and sun screen.
