Hi! New to LW board, but not to OH.
Hi there everyone. I've been member of OH since maybe November 2013 and I have my final meeting with the surgeon tomorrow, will have my paperwork submitted to ins and will have a date probably for the end of this month or early May. I didn't start off a 'lightweight' but I've managed to lose +/- 35lbs( started at 271.6, down to 237ish today, Ht 5'6") since December so I am now! Once I started getting questions from some people on fbook groups and IRL about 'why do you need surgery if you're doing so well already?', I decided to poke around on this forum. I see several of you may be able to relate to this ;) Anywho, my date will be coming up soon and I'm a mix of nervous and excited, but overall READY. Just wanted to introduce myself in case I wanted to post a question here at some point. Thanks!!!
Welcome! What surgery will you be having? As all surgeries are represented here I am sure there are plenty of us who can offer you support and encouragement when and if you need. So ask away - don't be shy!
My husband asked me the very same question the night before my revision surgery - about doing well on the pre-op diet - and I said I wasn't capable of keeping any significant weight OFF for any length of time. I am a good dieter when I set my mind to it - it's when I get bored with it, or demotivated that I start gaining again. At least that's how it was/is for me. A life long battle! But so much easier with my pouch and the support I find here. Good luck on your journey - hope we get to know you around here.
Ashley
