Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!   Besides my tool,  I count  Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD  CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!

Happy Camel Day!!!  This is suppose to be our last really cold day for awhile.  I'm really hoping so!  I can't wait until it's grilling weather!  I tried grilling on our indoor George Foreman grill but it's just not the same.  I am totally amazed at how much fat comes out of our food though!  When DH complains I show him the drip container and he shuts up pretty fast....LOL.

Looking at my menu below I don't know how our LW's get all of the required Protein in by just getting it from food.  I feel like I am going to be eating all day and I only have 66grams.  After I get my Bladder injection this evening I might add a Protein Drink. It depends how I am feeling.

My Menu is not MY typical WLS Menu: I am a strict believer in Protein drinks but at the present time I have to limit them to 1 every other day because I have been diagnosed with IC (Painful Bladder Syndrome).  Success means:  Protein first then add other foods!!!!

Breakfast:     1 Egg and 1/4 cup Eggbeater Whites, and shredded cheese Scrambled
Lunch:           1 baked chicken thigh and drumstick

Snack:
1 Nature Valley Almond, peanut, sunflower seed (Gluten Free) Protein bar
Snack:           1 Laughing Cow Lite Swiss Cheese Wedge and 6 Saltines

Dinner:          3 oz. Roast and 1/2 cup noodles
Snack:           Popcorn

Calories: 1064   Protein: 66     Net Carbs: 101

Hey Roz!

I need to go to the grocery store.  I have some hamburg recipes I want to try and need some ingredients.

I hope winter has finished up as of today.  The wind is howling and snow still on the ground from yesterday and it looks COLD even tho it's sunny.

B - protein coffee

L - leftover hamburg surprise I found in the freezer

S - maybe some cashews.  I love then, they don't like me as much and seem to hurt my tummy.  You'd think I wouldn't eat them then, huh?

D - not sure yet.

Vits:  not yet

Water:  doing ok today

Nuts hurt my tummy too.  I just can't seem to quit once I start on them.  I would love to have some walnuts...I haven't had any for a really long time.

If you find any really good recipes please share them.  We usually eat Lean hamburger at least twice a week because it's fast.

Happy to see the Protein coffee!

What is it about nuts?  I can't stop eating them either and I know they are slowing down my weight loss, but for the life of me I just want the crunch and the fullness in my mouth I guess?  They make me feel really crappy too if I over eat - must be the fat content as I am senstive to that it seems.  I am going to make a pledge that I will not BUY any more nuts at the store until I get to goal...  Yikes.  I should probably also say that I won't eat up the stock that I already have too....

I'm thinking it the fats too.  Even at 5.5 years out I still have dumping symptoms when I have to much fat or sugar.  I have to buy individual bags of snacks so I don't over do it.

Good Morning,

I agree Roz, there is no way I could eat over 100 gms of protein in a day, unless I just ate all day, even then it might be tough!  Now give me some cakes or cookies and I could do some real damage, carbs are a different story.

The rain continues today...and I have errands I have to run so I'm not looking forward to it.

B: Coffee w/non dairy creamer....1/2 hr later-Protein shake w/1 cup unsweetened almond milk

L: 6 Chicken & cheese meatballs & 1/4 cup pasta sauce

S: Cheese stick

D: 1 cup Greek yogurt w/2 tsp SF Torani syrup

S: Protein shake w/1 cup unsweetened almond milk & 1 scoop of Miralax

X: Off day

W: Working on it

V: Done

That's why I am a strict believer in Protein Drinks.  My "healthy" menus are over 100g from protein drinks and protein from foods are a bonus.

Sounds Good!

I know what you mean about eating all your protein w/ no shakes seems like an eating fest.  I know you think you hate sushi (lol) but do you like fish in general?  Looking at your menu - I'd try maybe a piece or two of smoked salmon with your laughing cow cheese or low fat philly cream cheese maybe to really boost your numbers.  Or maybe instead of the protein bar I'd have some deli meat or a hard boiled egg.  I despise canned fish so I can't recommend it but I do eat cured mackerel on occasion or trout.  Trader Joes might have some things to offer - haven't set foot in one of those in over 10 years so I am just guessing.  Also are chickpeas allowed in your new diet?  I love to open up a can and drain them, then bake 'em on a cookie try for 40 minutes or so on med heat.  I don't even add salt, but they might be a good alternative to your popcorn and give you some added protein. Just food for thought!

B: coffee then protein coffee = 28g

S:  Almonds = 6g

L:  Chicken and cheddar wraps = 18g

S:  Lemon Protein shake = 23g

D:  Leftover ricotta bake w/ meat sauce = 15g

S;  Hot chocolate protein = 23g

All my vits in, water ok but not great.  Spent an hour at the gym- weight training and recombant bike.

I'm just complaining because I want to drink my Protein....LOL.  I can't imagine trying to get enough Protein in this way for the rest of my life.

When I eat my plain popcorn at night I go to the bathroom first thing in the morning. I don't get much fiber in.

Sounds Good!
