How long out of work after RNY?

How much time do you think I will need off after RNY? I'm a nurse and work on a busy med/surg floor. I don't do a lot of sitting around. I can get by without doing any heavy lifting if need be.  I also work three 12 hours shifts. I'm hoping that won't be too much and too long of hours.

Your Dr will have a guideline about lifting.  I was 62 but in pretty good shape and it was a good 6 weeks before I was back to normal.  I was working the whole time but I work from home.

I was 55 when I had my surgery so that might make a difference in your recoup time. I had my WLS after the Jewelry Store I worked for 18 years closed so I was unemployed but pretty sure I couldn't  have gone back to work and been on my feet all of those hours.  It took me a good 2 weeks before I had any energy but it was about a month before I felt good.

I went back after 2 1/2 weeks, but I have a desk job.  I was really tired when I got off, but did ok.

I was off for 2 weeks after my surgery when I went back I was able to get back into the swing of things but I also have a desk job.
