Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!   Besides my tool,  I count  Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD  CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!

The last Tuesday in March! The weather man promised this morning that Spring is almost here!!  It hasn't really been a bad winter in our area but it's been cold and long.

I got my Jay Robb Vanilla Protein yesterday.  I made a shake this morning and I don't know what I did wrong (maybe too much ice) but it was so thick I had to divide it up and let it melt awhile...LOL.  Hopefully the next one I make will be better.  I feel like I have been drinking it forever!!!  Sitting in my office chair always makes me cramp some so I'm not sure if the Shake is causing me any discomfort or not.

My Menu is not MY typical WLS Menu: I am a strict believer in Protein drinks but at the present time I have to limit them to 1 every other day because I have been diagnosed with IC (Painful Bladder Syndrome).  Success means:  Protein first then add other foods!!!!

Protein:         Shake:  1 Scoop Jay Robb Vanilla and 1/2 Cup Cottage Cheese
Breakfast:     1 Egg and 1/4 cup Eggbeater Whites Scrambled
Lunch:           1 Slice of Deli Ham and 2 Slices of Swiss Cheese - made two wraps

Snack:
1 Nature Valley Almond, peanut, sunflower seed (Gluten Free) Protein bar
Snack:           1 Laughing Cow Lite Swiss Cheese Wedge and 6 Saltines

Dinner:          Baked chicken thigh and drumstick
Snack:           Popcorn

Calories: 1156   Protein: 109      Net Carbs: 59

Roz, I hope the cramping stops for you.

The hay fever is making its rounds in my house from the crazy amounts of tree pollen. My daughter and I have been miserable with the sinus headaches and sneezing the last couple of days. Thankfully it hasn’t been too bad for my son whose asthmatic.

Today is also my nephew’s 7th birthday. He has a surprise birthday party planned for this Sunday so I’ll have him spending the night Friday and Saturday so his mom can finish the last minute preparations. It should be fun but I know it’s going to wreak havoc on my meal plan – at least for Sunday.

MENU:

B – Hardboiled egg (6 g protein)

       ½ Bagel thin w/ tsp peanut butter (7 g protein, 16 g carbs)

Coffee w/ Truvia and Almond Joy creamer

S – Syntrax Iced Tea protein (23 g protein)

L – 2 slices of Turkey luncheon meat (7 g protein)

Syntrax Iced Tea protein (23 g protein)

S – Syntrax Iced Tea protein (23 g protein)

Lite Babybel Mozzarella cheese (6 g protein)

D – Pork & broccoli stir-fry (27 g protein, 9 g carbs)

VITES: done

WATER: 64 oz

MILES: none, yoga this afternoon

My cramping is so much better now that what little it does cramp doesn't bother me much. They say it takes a year to heal your bladder but just like acid reflux if you eat the wrong things to often it will flare up.

Sorry you are suffering from the Pollen.  My DH has a lot of allergies and he has never had any trouble when we go to FL.  Maybe it's gone by the end of April when we normally go.

I love kids Birthday Parties.  I don't think any of our grandkids have ever had a surprise one.

Sounds Yummy!

Hopefully the pollen clears soon.  All you see on everything is that yellow film.  I only have an issue with the tree pollen, mainly from the oak and juniper trees.  The kids have that and the grass pollen to deal with.

I can't wait for my nephew's party on Sunday.  I get to drive him to the Pump It Up here in Jacksonville.  He has absolutely no idea! :)

Maybe it's time for a new office chair.  Your menu's sounding nice BTW.

OK, so today was the first day of my eating more fruit and veg.  I'm trying this plan for 5 weeks (permanently if I do well).  It's meant to be a low fat plan, but I give myself a free pass on fat due to the DS... we'll see how this works - I'm kinda nervous combining a conventional diet with high fat due my fat malabsorption.

B1 Protein shake (30)
S Cheese (20)
S Banana
B2 2 eggs, 2 sausages & bacon (25)
S Vegetable soup (1 cup)
L Chicken salad & a side of asparagus & mayo (35)
S Apple
S Pistachios (15)
D Chicken breast & salad (30)

Protein total (155)
F 72+
V All in (inc 6 calcium batches & iron, vit C & copper)  nightime strontium batches pending

My chair isn't that old but if I slouch over my desk to work my bladder cramps from the extra weight of my tummy. I have to remember to sit up straight.  Propping my legs helps some too.  I couldn't figure out why I hurt less on the weekends than I do at work and the way I sit seems to be the reason.

Thanks for looking at my menu.  I would appreciate any input on it.

I think your menu sounds good!

I have been really chowing down of Fruits and Veggies.  Keeps that internal plumbing working great.  Only thing is I don't have that much capacity, so I have to eat 6 times a day to get everything in.  I aim for 2 fruits, and 3 or 4 veggies.  I even eat veggies for breakfast (usually in an omelet)  I I don't have too much room for grains with all the F and V but that is fine.

If your weight loss starts to slow down it might be the fruit.  It has a lot of natural sugars in it.  If you don't notice any difference Enjoy!!
