Menus and Miles Monday Mar. 24th
Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!
Happy Monday Morning LW's!!! I hate water! So, I ordered an Infuser Pitcher and a bottle. So far today I have gotten in 16 oz. of Strawberry/Min****er and I have another 20 oz. bottle in the fridge that I am hoping to finish off before I leave work. If this works I am going to be so happy! I am allowed to have Protein Drink today but I'm going to hold off until My Jay Robb Vanilla order comes in. I want to be pretty cramp free when I try it so I can figure out if it's going to work for me. I hope it comes fast!!! I also placed my supplement order with Vitalady yesterday. I'm doing good in the weight department but slacking in every other department.
My Menu is not MY typical WLS Menu: I am a strict believer in Protein drinks but at the present time I have to limit them to 1 every other day because I have been diagnosed with IC (Painful Bladder Syndrome). Success means: Protein first then add other foods!!!!

Happy Monday Roz,
I didn't have a great wt loss this week (-0.2), but it's the beginning of wk 3 back on plan, or the beginning of wk 4 counting the tracking week, so I should have expected it. I've lost a total of 9.8 lbs in 3 weeks, better than gaining or staying where I was at. I know I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, so the weight has to drop sometime :/
B: Coffee w/non dairy creamer....1/2 hr later-Protein shake w/1 cup unsweetened almond milk
S: Cheese stick
L: 4 oz Roasted turkey breast, 1/2 cup Collard green
D: 4 oz Grilled Elk steak & 1 cup green beans
S: Protein shake w/1 cup unsweetened almond milk & 1 scoop of Miralax
X: 35 mins elliptical, 20 min strength/weight training & abs
W: Working on it
V: Done

It's harder to lose when you are further out because our "tool" isn't doing all of the work for us. I think .2 is good and 3 weeks is awesome! Just stick with high Protein as much as you can. I normally drink 4 shakes a day (over 100 grams). In fact I don't even count my Protein in food they are just an added bonus.
What kind of Protein do you use? Is it over 20g of Protein per scoop? Is it low carb? Raising your protein up will help move the scales in the right direction.

Roz, I use Max protein powder, here the info on it:
1 scoop=118 cal, 2 gm fat, 22 gm protein, and 3 carb so I think it meets all the guidelines. I also only mix it with unsweetened almond milk, so the carbs are only about 4 total.
I'm still waiting on my Syntrax nectar to show up, so I'll incorporate it when I get it.
I knew it would be harder to lose this far out, so I'll stay on plan and let it play out...it'll go sooner or later ;) There's no way that it can't, I'm only consuming 800-900 cal a day (normally closer to 800 as I don't normally finish the meals that I list daily), and I'm burning at least 250-300 exercising, and I never compensate with extra food.
Thanks for the advise and encouragement ;)
Sometimes if you don't eat enough the weight doesn't come off either. If you aren't getting in all of the food at meals maybe you should add in another Protein Drink. When you get your Syntrax I would try it with water before adding any kind of milk.

I'm not sure what area you're not doing well in - you're menu looks great and you're doing great with the curve ball you've been thrown.
I'm posting later today as I was at Slimming World. I've signed up for 5 weeks and I want to lose 10lbs in that time.
You're allowed fruit on the plan, which is the main difference with what we do (OK, plus some potato, pasta and rice too, but bread is seriously limited which is a good thing). I'm going to see how it goes... I can eat a lot so I'll make sure I get my protein in first as ever and I'm going to pad out with vegetables which I haven't been doing.

Thanks Huneypie, unfortunately I threw myself a curve ball, I should have stayed on plan from the beginning and I wouldn't be in this position of trying to lose the regain...live and learn ;)
I'm not discouraged or unhappy with my progress this far out, I really don't have a problem sticking to my program as I've found out I still have fairly good restriction when I stick with dense protein...I just like to get feedback to make sure what I'm doing is the best way to proceed.
Like everyone else, I would love to lose faster, but I realize the mechanics of why the body does what it does and I'll stick with it ;)
I've been slacking with my supplements, walking, and getting my fluids in.
So are the cookies gone now....LOL? Is slimming World a Weight Loss group or a Gym?
Sounds Good!
