I was so tempted to get some Wendy's Chili today but I decided if I wanted a Protein drink tomorrow I had better not eat anything that might get my bladder cramping.

Sounds Good Gina!!!

WooHoo Roz on 118!  That's awesome!  I weighed today (now only do it 2 times a week) and was at 136.  I'm really really really surprised that I haven't gained because of how I've been eating (carbs).  I was at 143 a few months ago, so I'm ok with it but need to still keep on plan.  SIL cooked last night and I was invited over for dinner... I could feel my blood sugar drop just LOOKING at the food, but I ate it.  Ravioli w/spinach and cheese with a garlic/alfredo sauce and cheese garlic bread... I can't remember the last time I ate like that.  I also was VERY lucky my BS didn't drop...

I didn't go back to VA today.  I had someone come out to give me a quote on a roof.  He stayed here FOUR yes 4 hours - OMG. Wasted my whole day (and my sisters').  Had someone else come over today and he quoted me 3K less.  I signed... I felt really good about this guy and his company (already had seen him/talked to him at the annual home show Friday nite) and asked him to come out today.  It will be done Friday and next time I come back I'll have a new roof and a new look to the house.  I picked a blue/black combo and think it will look great!

I was going to wait until Wed, but may head out tomorrow afternoon...

Congrats on the girls' performance!  Sorry to hear one got hurt... Like it's been said, I'm surprised it hasn't happened earlier (in practice OR performance!)

B - egg scramble with ham/eggs/mushrooms/cheese with some hashbrowns on the side

L - a slice of cheese

D - 1/2 of a club sandwich

Vits: yep

water:  Not really good...

WooHoo to your 136!   I'm sure you still look Fantastic!

4 hours....was he interested in you more than the roof?    What in the world did you talk about for 4 hours??? We had to redo our roof and we were amazed at the differences in quotes.  Is it windy where you live?  My DH insisted they nail the shingles on because our SIL's shingles were stapled and he loses some every time it's windy.  We just got new garage doors and they make me smile every time I pull in the driveway.  The next thing is putting white railings on my front porch.

We rarely have an injury at the competition but it's not unusual for things to happen at practice.  Our gym in very fortunate because my DD Coaches all 12 squads so she knows what girls skill wise can fill in for injuries. Unfortunately the girl got hurt on Thursday and we competed Saturday and the fill in wouldn't have had any practice time.  If it had been an away competition they would have time at the comp to practice before hand.

Sounds good Jody!

No - he was trying to 'sell himself' I think.  He talked (bragged) about all the people he knew that were famous, important, etc etc etc and his penthouse condo in FL, it got old.  He wasn't interested in me per se.  I found he talked to my sister during the "self talk" and me when for the roof - lol.  He isn't my type anyway, I'd probably kick him to the curb in a week....

The shingles are "wind rated" and they use 5 nails per sheet.  I also want new porch and railings.  Mine is just a boring concrete porch with no overhang and metal white railings.  Boring... Maybe some day.  I understand about smiling with changes to the house.  I got a new front door last fall and LOVE it and can't believe what it difference it makes both inside and outside.  I now have light where it was once dark and dreary...

My DD has the most beautiful front door...I so wish I could have something like that!  I was shocked at how much railings are.  DH and I are going to try and do them ourselves.  Next summer we want to rip the back porch off and add a new deck that goes from the porch to the game room.  He wants to put a Gazebo on the one end for the grill and table but I think he's dreaming...that is going to be way out of our budget.  If we weren't going on another cruise in Dec. it might be possible but it's already booked.

I'm glad you posted.  I hope I don't offend you in any way and scare you off!!!!  I want you to be Successful in this Journey!!!!!!!!

The main thing I am worried about with your high calories for the amount of Protein you are getting in is "how are you going to adjust for maintenance"? We all gradually increase the amounts of foods and calories we consume after surgery and by the time the honeymoon period is over we are pretty much up to the level we will live at the rest of our lives if we want to keep our weight off.  I can't see you being able to maintain with very many more calories.

I'm just not sure what to say....LOL.  I'm happy with your lunch menu but concerned about the rest.

The first thing I would do is find a Protein drink with a lot less calories.  What Protein do you use now?  The Syntrax Nectares have 100 calories for 23 grams per scoop and 0 carbs. There are good Protein coffee's out there too or you can add Protein flavors like vanilla to you coffee.

You mentioned you get hungry. I would eat smaller meals more frequently and drink a Protein Drink in between instead of using so many calories for your meals.

I'm not sure what Hungarian Mushroom soup is but wow that's a lot of calories for only 17 grams of Protein. Most soups are slider foods and aren't very filling.

Your water intake is good....

Hey Roz, You didn't offend me in any way!  I know you are trying to help and want me to be successful.  Just a bit more info, My menu yesterday wasn't indicative of my usual foods.  I generally only eat solid protein but  several said to add protein shakes, so yesterday I did two, usually I don't do any.  Trying anything to stop this gaining, so I thought I'd try the shakes instead of meals.  Saturday for instance breakfast was an egg, cheese, 1 jimmy dean turkey sausage patty and one slice of high fiber low calorie wheat toast. Lunch Tuna and Dinner was Fajita beef, beans and pico di gallo.  Today I will have the same for lunch.

The first protein shake had 1 cup of milk, 1 scoop of unjury vanilla, 2 tbsp of PB2 and 1/4 of banana.  The second one was Unjury Chocolate splendor, 1/2 cup of milk and 2 tbsp or PB2.  I only had the soup yesterday because I really wanted it, I modified my old recipe to cut down fat and added plain yogurt for the protein instead of sour cream.   I can very easily eat all solid protein to get in my protein grams.  I have no trouble with steak, chicken (except i hate it), salmon, etc.   I am just trying not consume more than 1/2 cup though I could easily do so.  So you think 900 calories a day is too much?  I am still hungry even at that level.  That is very discouraging.  I had surgery to stop the hunger beast.  I am actually hungrier now than i was before my band came out and I had no fluid in it.

Just as an aside I can't drink protein in my coffee.  I drink my coffee black and I don't like anything in it at all.  The idea of thick protein makes me gag!  I see lots of people putting protein in their coffee and drinks and I just can't do it.  I have to add the Pb2 to my shakes to disguise the smell and flavor of the protein.

Try the unsweetened Almond Milk instead of regular milk.  I use Silk Brand, but there are many others out there.  It only has 30 cal, 2.5 fat, 1 carb, & 1 gram of protein for a cup.  Have you tried any other kind of protein powder?
