Menus and Miles Wed. Mar.19th
I had to travel - 6 hour drive and then attend my sister in law's wedding fest at 3 weeks post-op so I know how tricky that is. Obviously drinking protein shakes is easy - and that was the only time I drank the pre made/mixed one which was so simple to grab and drink. I brought a small cooler bag with me and ate greek yogurt and ricotta cheese w/ tomato sauce. But something most Americans don't know about Laughing Cow cheese wedges are that here in Europe (where they come from) they are sold on the dry foods aisle! Yes. Really. So are the eggs by the way... But laughing cow cheese is a great grab and go at this point in your journey and while it is nice when it is cold - it's not bad at all room temperature! Good luck. Soon it will get easier - but traveling takes planning for sure.

I haven't taken a PPI routinely for many months. If I behave food wise I don't have issues. A couple times when I misbehaved right before bed I woke up with bad reflux. But that rarely happens. I do have loud rumbles every now and then though.

I never have heartburn like I did before surgery. I just a hunger feeling in the pit of my stomach and if I take the Prilosec every day I don't seem to get that.
Sounds Good!

the sun finally came out here today mid afternoon and I had meetings but tomorrow is suppose to be ok and I can play with the ponies!!! I did get to muscle pump this evening.
I just proved once again, I can't go without the prilosec. I tried a cheaper kind and even took it 2x a day instead of once and I still suffered. Went back on the prilosec and I am fine.

Do you get heartburn like before WLS? I describe mine as hunger pains when I skip mine a couple days in a row.
We've had sun and rain today but the it's suppose to snow tomorrow.
Sounds Good Price!

previously, I have gotten a gnawing feeling in my stomach area. This time I seriously thought a couple of time about going to the ER for a heart attack. It was burning, hurting up higher in my chest. Never is the in my throat kind of heartburn.
Snow, yuck. I am so over all this.

Is it like spring where you live? It's rainy and cold here and we are suppose to get snow again tomorrow. The end of April can't come fast enough for DH and I. We are sooooo looking forward to going to FL. DH didn't go last year and I think he was bummed the whole time I was gone. I didn't have to ask him twice this year....lol.
I bought some Talapia and I forgot about the pork rinds. I'm betting it's not of my "allowed" list. I'll have to check it out. I think I'm just going to steam it for dinner tomorrow.
My Dr. did approve Veggie Straws today which surprised me. (I don't even plan on buying them but I was curious...lol) I was such a mess emotionally when I started on her program that I think she is totally shocked at how well I am doing.
Sounds Yummy Linda!

It was dreary here today, but did get up to 73 by the time I got off work today. I should have walked, I took my clothes to work, but just wanted to come home after work. It has been a really hard week. People are complaining about the shorter hours at the library due to the staff cuts.
LOL-Your doctor should have realized you could stay on program - look how good you have stayed on your program after WLS!!!
I did some pork chops with the pork rind crust recipe and loved them. The fish was ok. I cooked several so I'll be eating on it for a couple of days. I didn't bake the fish in the oven, I just put it in a pan that had been sprayed with Pam.
Florida sounds wonderful!! We are suppose to go to Las Vegas in May with another couple. I'm so excited. DH and I have never flown before so we are both excited and nervous... I'm worried about how to take all my food/protein things with me on the plane. I told DH he could have a small carry on bag and I would fill up the two large suitcases that could be checked!!
