When I skip my Prilosec for a couple of days I can really tell. Sometimes I think I'm just stubborn about not taking it and that is sooo dumb of me.

I hope you get some good Protein in

You know, I'm having to take Prilosec every day too.  There was a short period where the GI specialist had me stop taking it.  I was miserable.  He put me back on it and now my tummy's rather content - no loud noises coming from the tiny pouch.  I get the feeling that it's going to be a permanent medication for me.

Hi Gina - I am curious if you have found that the Greek yogurt helps with your digestion?  It seems - and since sometimes this roller coaster ride is hard to decipher - that if I eat a whole 120g pot of Fage full fat yogurt in a day, then I am on the loo for most of the morning, but in a good way!  The 2% and fat free versions don't effect me that way.  I know it's a bit TMI - but I was curious if I am just weird or if you've noticed anything like that since you seem pretty attached to your breakfast :)

Thanks - Ashley

We use 2% rather than the full fat. The full fat was just too rich in taste for me.

I had VSG on Feb 25th. I am post op week 3 and still on pureed foods. I get all my vitamins in and I am already down 23 pounds. I travel alot and I am looking for good suggestions for foods to eat while on the road. I typically do at least 1 30gm protein shake daily. I do get some walking in as well. I drink lots of water everyday. My protein intake currently is about 60gm daily.

Do you have any food suggestions.

I'm just leaving work so i will check back with you when I get home.  I have a Dr. Appt. after work so it will be a little later.  If you don't get any suggestions on M&M then you might want to start a new post so you get lots of responses.

Welcome to our LW Board and Congrats on your Surgery and your Weight Loss!!!

WOW...you have me stumped.  I kept thinking about you the whole time I was at my Drs. Appt. Puree would be hard when you are traveling. I guess I would go the easy route and drink extra Protein Drinks.

When I was a newbie I ate a lot of soups, pureed any kind of meat that DH was having,  put unflavored Protein in everything including SF jello/pudding, crystal lite, hot cocoa etc.  I also sucked on beef jerky but didn't swallow the meat.

I made a decision early out that I didn't want to keep track of everything I ate like I had to do going to WW's all of those years so I don't count Protein unless it is in Protein Drinks.  Before I got diagnosed with IC I drank over 100g of Protein a day and even though I still base all of my meals on Protein I don't have to worry about getting enough in.

I still think it would be a great idea for you to start a new post.  I'm sure someone on the LW site has had to travel during those early months.

When I traveled I would take my magic bullet with me and just puree things like Wendy's chili or anything else I wanted to eat.  I now put my protein powder in baggies and take with me when I go anywhere.  I still take a cooler most of the time and take my milk(Hood Calorie Count Down Low Carb Milk)  and bottles of water.  I have a very large bag that I put everything in.  The Dannon Lite Greek Yogurt with fruit is really good and only has 80 calories.  Cottage cheese was another good thing.

Welcome to the LW Board!!  Sounds like you are doing a great job so far.
