Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!   Besides my tool,  I count  Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD  CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!

It's over the hump day again!!  I wonder if that camel gets tired from the weeks going so fast. It looks like we've had a few newbies joining us.  I LOVE Newbies!!!  It's so exciting following their journey on this exciting roller coaster ride!

My Menu is not MY typical WLS Menu: I am a strict believer in Protein drinks but at the present time I have to limit them to 1 every other day because I have been diagnosed with IC (Painful Bladder Syndrome).  Success means:  Protein first then add other foods!!!!

Breakfast:     (ate half) 1 egg, 1/4 cup Eggbeater Whites, 1/4 diced Ham
Lunch:           2 Slices of deli ham and 2 slices of cheese

Snack:           1/3 cup Cottage Cheese and 1.5 Tbs. SF Cherry Jam
Snack:
banana
Snack:           Tuna fish salad and 6 Saltines
Dinner:          Hamburger Patty and Steamed Veggies
Snack:           Popcorn

Yay for hump day! My DS2 will be home in 2 days from his school trip to Switzerland. It's crazy how much we miss him and how out of sorts his brothers are without him. Pouch is still burning a bit especially when empty. Will take the PPI til Monday and then call the doc if it isn't improving.

What kind of Protein are you using?  Is there caffeine in it?  I only stopped taking my Prilosec for a week after WLS and then the Surgeon put me back on it.  If I miss it my tummy grumbles like it is starving.

Sounds Good!

For my shakes I use Syntrax Nectar - Lemon tea or Chocolate truffle or Fuzzy Naval.  For my morning protein I use a mixed Whey/casein protein that comes from the UK.  I really think that my stress levels due to the Audit and getting all our papers ready etc. is making things worse :(  The PPI seems to be working  I gave it an hour before drinking my coffee this morning and that seems to have made a huge difference.  I am just not ready to deny myself coffee at this point!!!

Stress can do crazy things to our bodies!!  Good luck with the audit!!  My DD#1 is a dreaded auditor for non profits and she is always telling me stories about how mean the clients are but she knows it's stress and she is getting used to it.  ME...I would be kissing their butts instead of being mean....LOL.

Is it really Hump Day?  Looking outside it looks no different than it has since Sunday evening.

Another gloomy day here in Jacksonville but a good day anyways. I went to lunch with my daughter, sister, nephew and mom for the first time since I had my surgery.

We went to a Japanese restaurant. I had clear soup, a shrimp tempura sushi roll and gyoza (dumplings) but left my fried rice alone. It was really good but I know I’ve got to make up in the protein department the rest of the day. I decided to make the Chicken and Dumplings like planned and I'm going to add an extra protein tea after dinner.

MENU:

B – Syntrax Iced Tea protein (23 g protein)

       ½-bagel thin w/ 1 tbsp natural peanut butter (12 g protein, 20 g carbs)

S –

L – Shrimp Tempura Sushi Roll Bento Box

     Iced tea

S – Syntrax Iced Tea protein (23 g protein)

D – Chicken and dumplings

S – Syntrax Iced Tea protein (23 g protein)

VITES: done

WATER: working on it

MILES: none

It sounds like you had a good day!  I've only been to 1 Japanese restaurant and I loved the rice.  They could have kept everything else....lol

If it were me I'd probably add 1 more Protein drink to make up for lunch.

Thanks Roz.  I was thinking about adding an additional protein drink after dinner/before I go to bed.

I like noobs with avis and info on their signatures... makes it easier to know who you're talking to and makes this more fun!! ;-)

Anyways, I did get up last night and I got my strontium in... boo hoo!!  I was getting used to sleeping through - I think I did that for about a week in a row, which is totally unheard of for me.

Usually if we have a newbie that doesn't post surgery type and date I write and ask them to do that so we can help them easier.  Although we all pretty much eat the same thing it is easier sometimes if you know their info.

Potato chips....LOL  That reminds me...I want to ask my Dr. this evening about the Veggie Straws.  Sometimes I need a little more crunch than I get from my popcorn.

Good protein totals!
