Hi I'm new to this sight would love new friends on the same journey

Thank you so much ashley..I'm a pretty possitive person .But boy this is hear with my family. There doing everything they can so I don't have this surgery...I almost thought about saying the heak with it....hope to be able to stand tall and just do it 

Sometimes family makes it harder than it needs to be :(  I think - at least from my experience - that sometimes their fear for your immediate safety (i.e.: surviving the surgery) translates into negativity about the whole thing.  I know when my husband gets scared he tends to lash out.  Kinda like a toddler :)

I know that WLS isn't something to take lightly - but once YOU have decided to take the step and trust that it is the right decision for you and that the potential for good health, thinner body, longer life span, more energy etc. outweighs the fear of complications then you are going to be a success.  It may not be easy and it for sure won't be a straight line, but most of us here will tell you it was worth it 10x over.  

I hope for your sake that your family will come around.  We are "here" to pick up the slack!  You can do this! 

Welcome. Sorry about your family. My son was against my surgery but he showed up at the hospital on surgery day. Your family can be supportive even though they don't want you to have surgery. It does work out. I needed surgery to improve my health and my family is 'stuck' with me for a long time coming. LOL.
