Ezekiel 4:9 Bread
What are your thoughts on Ezekiel 4:9 bread. My doctor told me that was the ONLY TRUE Whole grain bread, the others were truely not whole wheat. The one I love is Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin English Muffins. They have 160 Calories, 0 fat, 36 Carbs, 85 mg sodium, 3 protien (This is for a whole one, a serving size is 1/2, but I usually eat the whole muffin). It is very filling and It is really good. Please let me know what you feel about THIS Carb/Bread.
Thank you!
I wouldn't have touched it with a 10 ft. pole while I was in weight-loss mode - way too high in carbs with essentially no protein. But I was keeping to 800-900 calorie/40-50 carb plan toward the end of my weight-loss phase. So you can see why this wouldn't have fit in.
As for now, I'm afraid I would probably like it TOO much. Cinnamon raisin toast was a BIG binge food for me in the old days. I could easily go there again, especially if I told myself these muffins were somehow "good" for me
For me, I have a sensitivity to gluten. I can eat a little bit but too much makes me bloated and I have abdominal pains. So it's a great deterrent. I opt to avoid breads and baked goods all together. They just have too much carbs. That's just my preference.
Many of the vets here will suggest you be careful with too many carbs while you're still losing. Something to consider.
Never tried that one and probably won't. I have tried a sprouted grain one from the same company that has decent protein, lots of fiber to counter the carbs. I keep it in the freezer and have about 1 piece a month.

I disagree about the whole wheat thing. You CAN buy regular bread that is 100% whole wheat. HOWEVER, most of them are still loaded with preservatives and chemicals that many of us try and avoid. I love the Ezekial breads....whole grains (not just wheat) that are sprouted which make them more bioavailable and make the gluten much less problematic for many people. They are super high in carbs and I don't eat things that don't have 8 g protein per 100 cals so it's not on the plan that I eat right now. But if I do try bread in maintenance, this is my "go to".
