Last week 111.2

This week 112.2

Up a pound.  May be the chinese food we had last night.  Went to a buffet.  It cost $17 which I wouldn't mind except I hate spending that much for a few bites of food but this place had things like crab legs, which I really had to work at to get any kind of meat, and salmon, lots of protein choices so it wasn't too bad but I could taste the salt or msg or whatever they use.

Tonight is Thai food.  Went out with my daughter and her husband and kids for their anniversary last night, tonight it's with the boys and my grand daughter.  I usually don't go out to eat that much in one week but I'm not complaining.  Beats cooking.

Chinese buffet...I haven't done a buffet in AGES.

And it probably was both salt & MSG.

Have fun tonight...then back on track.

I actually go to buffets pretty often.  My boyfriend and my kids love them and I don't want them to feel like they have to accommodate me.  I really don't have any problems at buffets, believe it or not.  I just go for the grilled or backed protein like steak and chicken, the fresh vegetables and fruit and avoid anything processed.  Tonight we wound up going to an Indian buffet.  It was nice because they had a lot of gluten free food.  It was a bit spicy even for me but I enjoyed it.  I really don't have to worry about eating to much.  Once I hit my limit it is like it is physically impossible to put in another bite.  My problems are with foods like nuts and crackers that you can just keep eating and eating because they aren't dense enough to fill me up until I have a whole lot of them.  Those things I practice portion control and just give myself a serving and put the rest away but things like meat even though I almost always give myself a big serving I get full long before I fini**** up.

I don't really feel like I need to get back on track because I really don't feel like I am off track as long as I avoid things with sugar and gluten.  I love buffets because of the variety of foods available.  I usually take a small amount and wind up taking a bit of whatever looks good.  Even though the buffet we went to last night was $17 I don't feel cheated because I got such a wide variety of food to try.  I like to think that I could go just about anywhere and find food I can eat.  I don't plan on living the rest of my life eating at home and eating the same things.  I plan on living my life doing what I want and eating what I want (within reason) and not feel handicapped by my surgery.  It's all about choices and as long as I make the best choices I can with what I have to work with I feel good about it.

The reason I don't do buffets is that it's usually just dh and I and we can't justify buffet prices for either of us.

If we go out with others who want a buffet, yes we go but we usually just eat at home. But then I actually prefer to eat at home cause I like to cook.

We also don't do processed foods.
